You and your museum of lovers
The precious collection you've housed in your covers
My simpleness threatened by my own admission
And the bags are much too heavy
In my insecure condition
My pregnant mind is fat full with envy again
But I still love to wash in your old bathwater
Love to think that you couldn't love another
I can't help it... you're my kind of man
Wanted and adored by attractive women
Bountiful selection at your discretion
I know I'm diving into my own destruction
So why do we choose the boys that are naughty?
I don't fit in so why do you want me?
And I know I can't tame you... but I just keep trying
'Cause I love to wash in your old bathwater
Love to think that you couldn't love another
I'm on your list with all your other women
But I still love to wash in your old bathwater
You make me feel like I couldn't love another
I can't help it... you're my kind of man
Why do the good girls always want the bad boys?
So I pacify problems with kisses and cuddles
Diligently doubtful through all kinds of trouble
Then I find myself choking on all my contradictions
'Cause I still love to wash in your old bathwater
Love to think that you couldn't love another
Share a toothbrush... you're my kind of man

Make me feel like I couldn't love another

Too bad fame and fortune have gotten to Gwen. She was cool when this was going on.
A previous comment said this artist was "exploring her style" - I see she didn't find anything...

Tremendous. No doubt, I'd swim in her bathwater.

Back when Gwen was part of fresh new stuff.,
No doubt about it. I can't stand her voice.
LOVE a few of Gwen's songs. This isn't one.
Many make me feel she was exploring her range of style. Respect, but no sale.

To the haters:
If this was played as a "new artist" or anything other than under the No Doubt name, you would not be whining.
In fact, you'd like it. Get off the high horse.

Pleasantly surprised. But I think some of the folks rating this ridiculously low are just being sourpusses. This is fun music, and I'm sticking by it. A 5.5? Hardly.

I've listened to RP since 2000 and I don't recall ever hearing this song. Curious.

Wow! This blended sweetly right after Tracy Bonham's "Devil's Got Your Boyfriend"
In an attempt to turn this positive, I would have to say that No Doubt was a big surprise on the plus side live. Gwen's energy works really well on stage in an unscripted genuine way.

Humm, let me try. Preprocessed, talentless, thoughtless, shit for the preprogrammed masses. At least those people most likely don't listen to this station.
This band had one great tune --- Hey Baby --- and a lot of other stuff that really didn't do it for me. And I agree with the comments re Gwen's solo stuff: Toni Basil did it already --- give it a rest.

yeah, what happened to her? I was switching channels a little while back ago and I saw her on tv singing some some that goes like "WOOHOO, WEEHOO" the whole time in a really annoying way. Yet another example of why bands shouldn't break up. Seems like she's got a case of LSD (lead singer's disease)

Good for you Bill...
Knowing that there was going to be a contingent saying "I can hear Gwen/No Doubt on my local FM Station", he still had the balls to play a song that is more than worthy for RP's playlist... despite the said contingent.
Come on people... get over yourselves and just enjoy what really is a fun song.
no doubt this song sux.
Personally surprised I'm hearing this song on RP right now.

Said it before and I'll say it again - good stuff! - MORE No Doubt wouldn't bother me at all.
Unlike apparently most people here, my appreciation for this band took a turn from non-existant to something-with-more-respect after hearing this particular song.
I could do without hearing No Doubt on RP ever again.
I've had a love/blahblahblah relationship with this one. Today it's catchy, upbeat and loverly on a sunny spring day.
In addition, that was an amazing segue from Cab to this...even if it is deja vu...It really made me hear the beginning of this song as never before.
True love, washing in someone's old bathwater is. (insert Yoda smiley)

Indeed, I could tolerate her on "Just a girl" but in most other songs I've heard from this band (before they started to make the current overproduced bombastic stuff), the exaggerated tremolo makes me want to travel back in time to the moment and place the recording was made, armed with a roll of duct tape.
Gwen Rules!!!!!!! just like Karen O
Everytime this song plays...people noitce it is preceeded by the same two songs...which is fine. But it's the fact that the song isn't up to snuff is what is drawing attention to this...one opinion anyway

The opening bars of Duke Ellington's "East St. Louis Toddle-o" (1926) at the beginning of "Bathwater" tied the two cuts together. Yet another one of Bill's brilliant segues.

No, we listen to RP to avoid the songs that we always hear on top-40 radio stations. No Doubt has a good song or two. I sometimes wish that the comments were limited to only first-time listeners to the band or song. Your predjudice against pop radio doesn't necessarily mean that a song by a band played on pop radio sucks. Open your mind.

Agreed. I think it's just that I find Gwen Stefani to be an obnoxious, shameless poseur: to me she's the McDonna of alt-rock. The band has some talent and they write some nice songs (like this), though.
Absolutly LOVE THIS SONG! Love to think that you couldn't love another, your my kind of maaaannnn.
Good song! And certainly NOT too mainstream. Do yoursleves a favor and get ahold of the Beacon Street Collection. It is absolutly one of the best CDs ever made. No Doubt gets a lot of flak because in recent years they have "sold out"...but one must remember that in the 90's, they reigned with Sublime and others.
All bands change with time. Maybe No Doubt will go the route of U2 and return to thier core productions to reign once again.
Do doubt has talent absolutely. Their overexposure in the vast wasteland of commercial radio does not diminish their appeal to me at all. Thank you for playing this. Great song. Would the Beatles or the Stones have been considered too commercial in today's environment??
