Perhaps it's a warped perspective, or do I hear Tracy Chapman a couple of times/day here on RP? Certainly more than her status in the music world commands... I can't remember the last time I heard Ms Joan and she's maintained herself as a classy, talented singer for years. sigh...

Start to finish, and incredible album. Gimme One Reason was overplayed, but the rest makes up for it. Wife is playing this one at my funeral, apparently!
Played at precisely the right time.

Only for those in a mooning mood. The whole album is like that, except for the "Gimme One Reason", which is actually a pretty driving blues song (the reason I bought the album).
2 minutes of song, stretched out to 5:20. Where's the Fast Forward Button?
Lame. Play some Joan Armatrading instead.
So very much NOT what I need to hear right now.
Beautiful song.
Great music...Tracy is sublime and so is Radio paradise...keep em comin guys.

Soft and smooth. A good relief after a hard day's work.

Nicely put. And same for me. :goodvibes:

Sweet. :)
Absolutely beautiful. I love this song.
Great. More of Chapman's music-to-slit-your-wrists-by. No thanks.

Fantastic, if the music is a little cliched Chapman's unique voice more than makes up for it! And credit to the string arranger!
Yes - arrangement and production that show some restraint. The bass and strings provide some shape and depth, so the song doesn't get all gooey, if you know what I mean...

Excellent observation. I found myself wondering if I'd consider the lyrics corny or the entire thing contrived if I was feeling a bit more cynical. Then I realized that there was no way I could get any more cynical, given that I was trying to get Cyrus IMAP/SASL working on OS X. It was then I decided she'd bridged the schmaltz gap with sincerity. Well done.
i'm totally crying...
Man... sitting here at work, doing my thing and I hear this song that has the ability to break you and bring you to tears if you listen to close. Crazy... maybe it's because it reminds me of an ex gf, but I'm not sure that it has to point to someone in particular, you can't help but associating the most sacred and powerful feelings of love with this song. Simply amazing what music can do.
I've been trying to figure out what this song is for so long! I saw someone do a dance performance to it in '97 and have loved it ever since. I knew it was Tracy, but didn't know the title. So glad to hear it now. It's so simple and beautiful, like most of her songs.
Love her voice...

Beautiful song. Tracy's voice makes it very poignant.
I agree, Les. This is just gorgeous, and, to me, feels somehow more tender or more sincere than some of her other ballads.
Sweet stuff.
Beautiful song. Tracy\'s voice makes it very poignant.
I like the almost sacred feel....

Thank you Ms. Chapman for your remarkable voice and words.
