Can certainly understand why Buffet took from this man's impressive catalog. Easy to imagine Jimmy on stage with this one. I first saw Jimmy back in Ft. Lauderdale in the early 70"s playing at the Coral Reef Hotel. Knew guys who knew Jimmy back in his pot running days.

Quite nice, this song. First time I heard it. Gotta look for more music of this guy.

True story:
Guy and Susanna were stuck in LA traffic, trying to get out of town. Frustrated, Guy said something like 'I just wanna get outta here without getting killed or caught'. His muse had struck - he knew he had a song. He rummaged around in the car, found a brown bag and an eyeliner pencil, and wrote it down on the spot.
From an interview I heard some years ago. Rest in peace, Mr. Clark.

Didn't realize this was a Guy Clark song, always thought Jerry Jeff Walker. Love them all but that whole outlaw bunch blurs in my mind. They were a welcome escape from the pervasive disco of the '70s. Thanks for jogging memory lane with us again Bill.
