you've been doing all that you do
and say what you wanna say
and you're puttin' all the blame on me
eh, baby...
everything i try to do
through it all you made it so hard for me
and you're puttin' all the blame on me
i'm givin' you my love
feel you want ?
how could you
'cause you want to put the blame on me
tell me
oh tell me (tell me)
come tell me (tell me)
tell me how you do me good
and you're puttin' all the blame on me
through hard times and sorrow (mm hmmm)
through heart aches and pain
i'll always be there for you
just for you
(uh... they say love is true)
you say your love was true
now you wanna break my heart in two
and you want to put the blame on me
eh, baby...
and say what you wanna say
and you're puttin' all the blame on me
eh, baby...
everything i try to do
through it all you made it so hard for me
and you're puttin' all the blame on me

does this song have anything to do with rag and bone man?
Nope. Just not in the mood to hear this.
like…ever. Yuck

BEAUTIFUL.
Subdued.
Seen him live in PHX at 49°C, him in a read leather suit and black boots... back in the early summer of 1991. While I, loosely dressed having cold Foster's Lager, he was sweating his bones out, while shouting out his voice and rocking along to a great deluge, rolling over all the fans into a stomping and jumping party. Will never forget. His seat in R&R heaven seems definitely assured for me.
Billg,
You should follow this one up with Rag 'n' Bone Man's "I'm Only Human".

This tune has got soul.
Awful news. RIP, Toots, and thanks for the great tunes.
R.I.P., Toots. You left us some good music.
Just heard today that Toots has COVID 19 and has been put into a medically induced coma. I wish him health and speedy recovery. He's been an important part of my musical journey for 30+ years

Get well, soon, Toots! We can't lose another great one to COVID.

What the hell is this? Oh, wait, I kinda like it. Hmm...it's growing on me at the first listen. 7.

Hey! I miss physicsgenius! Hopefully he's still alive and kicking. Back in the day he used to infuriate everyone with his posts, but he was oh so funny.
Guess he's listening to a station more to his liking? That's better than constantly whining here.

Nice afternoon set with a lot of really strong female vocalists, thanks RP!

As if tediously repetitive lyrics and non-existent music weren't enough, we have to listen to what sounds like a 60 year old man and a 25 year old woman croon "do me baby" to each other. Yuck.

So, 90% of everything is crap? That 90% must wholeheartedly include you.

The RP library contains what maybe some of the weakest songs off this album. Somebody get the title song of Funky Kingston uploaded.
jah_blessed remarked that this was too r'n'b for him/her, he/she could not be more wrong. This is soul-inspired. Not Rythm and blues-inspired music. And it is all good...
the cool dichotomy here is very I&I in its own way....good on Toots to embrace Rachel
Too R&Bish for me. The track with Willie Nelson (on the same album) is much better.
Please play some roots reggae from Toots.
Mr. Hibbert: Kindly don't go crossover and MOR on us; stick to your tried-and-true roots reggae.

I like Toots but this doesn't cut it for me. The duet just doesn't work. He sounds smooth and passionate, she just sounds overwrought and mechanical. I can also hear the age difference or the generational difference, or something. It just doesn't come together for me.
Ditto. Kind of comes off as bad "smooth jazz" to me

Yes. Their voices, while engaging separately, are like oil and water here.

I keep waiting for Willie to come in. Wrong song. :-)
Acceptable, but not my cup of tea.

Rachel Yamagata - Sounds like Joss Stone, or Pink (on a really good day).
This is an obscure question, but is she featured on the Playstation II game "Amplitude"?
I was thinking Joss Stone as well. But I think Joss has a much stronger voice with a far greater range than Rachel.
Great song though and a nice arrangement.
I think Rachel has one of the sexiest voices around. ooooh man!

This is from a highly enjoyable album...it may put off reggae purists, but it's a ton of fun...all duets...despite a few turkeys, like WIllie Nelson (I really like him, but despite his allegiance to ganja, he ain't no reggae singer!), it's got some great stuff on it. My kids love it, too!
Works both ways. Didya see Wyclef Jean try to reggae-rap a Willie song on that A&E tribute thing last year? Holy crap.

Jen sez it best for me!
I agree that anything with Rachael gets bumped up a notch. I think these voices sound great together. Let's not be so rash out there.

I am just NOT in the mood for this right now.

Normally I'm a big defender of all things reggae on RP...and I've been listening to lots of Maytals lately...but I can't get into this one. Ho hum is right.
"Well, there ya go then" as they say in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Normally I'm a big detractor of all things reggae on RP and I almost never listen to Maytals but I can really get into this one. And Rachel Yamagata's voice, to quote The Frantics, is giving me "urges in my areas."
Anything with Rachel gets bumped up a notch. A 7.
While this tune has some redeeming qualities - it is way too heavy in the rotation - please retire this one for a while !!!

HAHA I totally creamed you on that one
The album has some gems. I love "Blame on me" because of its right-on-the-mark emotional pitch, but I think the duet with Ben Harper -- strangely titled "Love gonna walk out on me" although the corresponding line in the song is changed to "Love's not gonna let me down" (copyright issue?) -- is equally strong and an all-round great tune.
yes.
Oh, I like this. A LOT. Rachel Yamagata, huh? I've got to remember that name - I'd like to hear more from her.

I agree. But then maybe it's just the mood I'm in, too.
I would rather hear "54-46 Was my Number".
This song certainly isn't as cool as their name. I don't know anything else by them, so I'll try to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Defines Ho-Hum
Song is not horrible, but to me, it sounds like they are both bordering on whining. I don't know.. maybe another listen will help....

I really like the sound of Rachel Yamagata's voice on this song. I'd like to hear more by her.

Please Dear Lord no...
