Sonnerie à l'arrière des berlines
on devine
des monarques et leurs figurines
juste une paire de demi-dieux
livrés à eux
ils font des petits
ils font des envieux

à l'arrière des dauphines
je suis le roi des scélérats
à qui sourit la vie

marcher sur l'eau
éviter les péages
jamais souffrir
juste faire hennir

Baschung - fabulous!  I would love to hear more of his stuff here.  Such an artist!
I was in Paris few weeks ago.  And music was in the air.
Alain Bashung war einer der ganz Grossen!

The best !! The beast !! Rate him with a 11
As French listener, I have just to acclaim this choice, much much better than Zaz.
Alain Bashung is one of the most interesting artist since 40 years in France !!!
Go on RP, go on !!!
Bashung in the main mix ? wooow nice. Go on like this RP
Loved this song and thanks as usual to RP and Bill for playing it. One question; is there an extended version of this song that RP played? For some reason it sounded like there was an extended guitar solo part that's not included on the LP version.
Merci de nous écouter !
Great to hear Alain Bashung on RP!
Try as well 'La Nuit Je Mens'!
Who is this Frenchie, Bob Dylan wannabe?
exceptionnel auteur compositeur et interprète. Je vous conseille d'écouter Bashung un des plus grands rocker français. Nous le regrettons chaque jour.
Got turned on to this song a few years when it's video popped up on YouTube (great vid btw!) and it was promptly added to my heavy rotation. Lovely to hear it on RP.
More Alain, please.
c'était un grand Monsieur
I wasn't sure it that was French or Creole. You sure can pick the good ones from the bad, Bill!

Bashung plays with words and rhymes, like in a poem. It's beautiful, subtle and difficult to transcribe into English. There isn't really a story or a message in his songs.

😉😉😉😉 Merci RP !!!!!!!
This song rocks in any language.
One of the most important French artists of last decades, thanks you RP.
Looks like Data's younger brother

Same. I know this song, 'cause ya know, I lived in France, but when I heard it tonight I was all "Alain Bashung!!!" and here I'd already rated it. Maybe I even commented on it, but I haven't scrolled that far back yet. {#Lol}

I resemble that remark...

A person who knows more than two languages is multilingual. A person that knows two languages is bilingual. A person that only knows one language is an American.
What a surprise to listen A.BASHUNG so fare from FRANCE, a very good song as all in the album
Greatest French artist of last decades. Love it.
Bashung is a god !!! 😎 Thank you Bill !!!

A French Lenny Cohen?
At first I thought it was Bob Dylan singing backwards. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
A French Lenny Cohen? Pretty catchy actually ...
WTF BILL?
Pas mal bien que il y a des autres à lui...
Hey never thought I'd hear that on Radio Paradise. It's nice to hear a little Frenchy from time to time! Merci.
Wahooo Bashung ! Thanx Bill !

Tiens! I'd embrace France just for the concept of 'separation of church & state'!

Sorry, Cpt., it's not just liberals, and not just the French lovers, or the French for that matter. The whole world is against President (Rainman) Warmonger. And now as brighthue suggested, back to the music. I propose "Flight of the Valkyries" as soon those jets will be swooping over the borders of Iran. Ah yes, the smell of napalm...

There are conservatives who bash Le "W" as well, don't cha know.
J'entends Mark Knopfler - Je Suis Desole. TrÚs agréable.

In France they have a different word for everything!!! GWB...
I love it and I don't care if it sounds like Dylan, am loading this one. Fabulous. I don't know what I'd do without this station.
again after pj harvey Is something there I missed or do they really always play them after each other.
Thought this was some obscure Dylan tune where he was just mumbling thru it...let's just say I was mostly wrong :)
Oh this is bad

Yuk-sounds like Bob Dylan. Great songwriter, lousy on vocals. Please remove the clothespin from the nose before singing.

Did it really play again after PJ Harvey? They should play more French music. We have some great stuff here in Québec (Daniel Bélanger, Ariane Moffatt, Les Colocs, Daniel Boucher, Harmonium......) Bonsoir!

Couldn't define the song better.
he sounds like that guy that you meet at the bar that you know vaguely from high school or a previous job and now he's pretty drunk and wants to tell you all about the girl at the end of the bar that's been giving him the come hither look all evening and he's been playing it cool-like but, by God, he'll be taking her home tonight, you just watch...
Genial! A quand du Gainsbard? Come on guys! upload Gainsbourg?
Can't beleive my ears! Thank's for playing Bashung!!!! :-({|= :propeller.gif: Bonjour a tous les camarades! Je vois que je ne suis pas la seule a appreciee ce moment!
