Love's a thrill
Love's a switch
Love is a shot
And I don't know what love is but I know what it's not
Suddenly you're outside of my dreams
You should have known I'd leave
Love is cold
Love is blind
Love is a sea
And I don't know what you need but I know it's not me
Suddenly you're outside of my dreams
You should have known I'd leave

Love's a thrill
Love's a switch
Love is a shot
And I don't know what you want but I know what you've got
Suddenly you're outside of my dreams
You should have known I'd leave
You're outside of my dreams
You should have known I'd leave

I want some of what you are having....OR maybe not!

Super cool way to say it, CoJo...distinctive sound for sure and worthy of a +1 to 9 for this guy...Long Live RP!!

I'm with you, mostly due to the 'sounds like' Jim M quality of Crosby's voice....so I'll go +1 on another VAST track and call this an 8.  Long Live RP!!
Avast ye landlubbers, Avast I say.

Maybe? It's a very similar bass line in the verse.

While not a big fan of Local H, I did think it was their 1996 song Bound for the Floor...

My next door neighbor's teen babysitter just commented "You should have known I'd heave."
Clearly  she did not mean a heavy object.
Quite funny, I thought. .

Very nice!
VAST is so remarkable and so un-well known. Song after song, his songs are incredible musically, lyrically and emotionally provocative. I love him!

The singer reminds me of the frontmen for Interpol and (godawful) The Killers. This song teeters on the edge of self-parody.
At first I thought this was acoustic Local H.  You can imagine my disappointment.

Vast. Another band I'd probably not have found if it were not for RP. Splendid.

Found it from a coworker! He also introduced me to Sigur Ros. But I introduced him to Echo and the Bunnymen. Old man teaches younger man a new trick.

Old dogs learn new tricks all the time!

That doesn't mean he is imitating them. It just means his voice sounds similar. I would also disagree that VAST doesn't have his own sound.

It's funny...  On one album, Vast sounds like Mid-90's U2, on this song he sounds like The Doors vocally.  While it appears that he doesn't really have his own sound, at least he's very good at imitating his inspirations.

i love it when they do that with the guitars

Just wanted to chime in on the Jim Morrison/Doors treatment I heard on this, as well. Good song, regardless.

This whole album is sooooooo good, I'm slightly obsessed with it.  And this is my favorite song of all.  Vast reminds me of The Doors.

I can see the vocal comparison, but not the music.  Ray Manzerek was way too obvious in Doors music.  Still, a good call on the vocals.

Journey-esque, without the Neil Schon guitar solo.
