Little time away
I go to the lakes
Little time to think
Let some troubles sink
We watch the sun rise
Light a little fire
Watch the smokey lines
Cut between the pines
Cut between the pines
And the darkness in our minds
Shed a little light
So far away tonight
So far away tonight
So far away tonight
We lay that cedar on
The waters deep and calm
As we travel on
To that little pond
Out to that little pond
There's a little place
Beat-up mailbox grey
We can see ya there
In that northern air
In that northern air
In that northern air
In that northern air
There's a little place
Beat-up mailbox grey
We can see ya there
In that northern air
In that northern air
In that northern air

Northern air is cold today. -7F at my house this morning. -40 in Fairbanks.
How has this only averaged a 6,5 rating? Instant 9 from me.
Blitzen Trapper v2

And what about Blue Rodeo??!!!
After all, both groups are from Toronto--you know, Canada's biggest city,
featuring crack-smoking, vodka-chugging, and verbally abusing Mayor Rob Ford.

Great band in concert. Much more energetic than the cd song here. Saw them at Niagara-on-the-Lake over the summer with Great lake Swimmers. Good stuff, thanks for playing.

It's March 1 and it's 29F outside my window right now. I am tired of this northern air.

This was gonna get a 5 until it kept going for 45 minutes. It gets a 3 now.

Well, Stingy, they're going to be in your neighborhood next month. Why don't you pop a few euros and go and throw rotten sauerkraut at them. And while you're there, you can complain to them directly how, um, boring they are. Man, I'd like to be a fly on the wall for that one.
Laugh, laugh

I prefer a great band "to hear"!
And what I hear is XXXXtremely boring!
Nice soundtrack for a BONANZA-remake!
PS
Certainly one of the most boring songs I EVER (!!!!) heard on RP.

Reminds me of my year in Ireland, but no cedar that I know of there!
Would love to go in An Spailpin Fanach in Cork and listen to them live, sipping a Beamish and may be dancing later

Blitzen Trapper fake out - but I dig it
Nice melody, simple lyrics and great instrumentation. Low 8.
Ka-Ching - off to blow $9 at the music store!
Has sort of a Paul Simon tinge to it.
Great song!! Great live band!!

Lyrics would be more authentic if they mentioned blackflies.
This harmonica takes me out on the weekend.

Gosh this sounds an awful lot like Blitzen Trapper's "Furr". I hate to post a "this sounds like that" message, but it's kind of stunning. Maybe they're friends...

well, come on, old Stingray has a reputation as a curmudgeon to keep up.
The song is interesting and deserves a few more plays, IMHO.
