Eh, it's better than Clapton's version.
Merely singing a classic in another language doesn't make it a successful reinterpretation.

I don't mind French songs at all, but totally prefer hearing the original.

Alpha Blondy churns through everything I've heard so far way too hurriedly. Like he has no time to emote a feeling or an atmosphere...just get through it and wink. Good production, but too polished and sterile for my tastes. I'm so incredibly bored by 'reggae' as it is...and when you strip the life out of a song...you're left with a carcass.
