They've stolen the moon
The magic is gone
And there in its place
A black midnight sun
The darkness is frightening
And love is denied
They've stolen the moon
God only knows why
The stars have lost their daughter
The devil's thieves have won
And there in her place
A black midnight sun
The magic is gone
And there in its place
A black midnight sun
The darkness is frightening
And love is denied
They've stolen the moon
God only knows why
The stars have lost their daughter
The devil's thieves have won
And there in her place
A black midnight sun

I came to see why Tom Waits suddenly sounded good. (I like Tom Waits but he doesn't sing, he growls which suits his music wonderfully)
I felt compelled to comment because I really like David Sylvian and have never heard this one, and also that my ear picked up Marc Ribot on guitar (who features prominently on many Tom Waits albums). Nice deep cut.

A great and underrated artist. Plus, what a brilliant album title!
Whew. David on RP at last. What a voice. And the instrumentation. Blows me away. 10 because there's no 20. Please play more.

Cannot get enough of David's voice.
First time hearing this, love the bluesy muteness.
Only 3 songs of David Sylvian (not even by far the best ones) and hardly any comments on this. This must be the most underrated artist on RP!
These are classic albums : brilliant trees, gone to earth, secrets of the beehive

1st Comment... erm... better add something relevant...
David is not easy listening. He has complex themes and motifs but is well worth the effort. This isn't his best. Try 'When Poets Dreamed of Angels' off of 'Secrets of the Bee Hive' or 'Before the Bullfight' off of 'Gone to Earth'.
Glad you found my first ever RP comment.
