I've been caught stealing;
once when I was 5...
I enjoy stealing.
It's just as simple as that.
Well, it's just a simple fact.
When I want something,
I don't want to pay for it.

I walk right through the door.
Walk right through the door.
Hey all right! If I get by, it's mine.
Mine all mine!

My girl, she's one too.
She'll go and get her a skirt.
Stick it under her shirt.
She grabbed a razor for me.
And she did it just like that.
When she wants something,
She don't want to pay for it.

She walk right through the door.
Walk right through the door.
Hey all right! If I get by, it's mine.
Mine all mine!

We sat around the pile.
We sat and laughed.
We sat and laughed and
Waved it into the air!
And we did it just like that.
When we want something,
We don't want to pay for it.

We walk right through the door.
Walk right through the door.
Hey, all right! If I get by, it's mine,
Mine, mine, mine, mine, mine, mine...

I always heard that last line of the chorus as "Hey alright, Back in Five.. "

That would have said so much more!  -   as in, 'Don't mind me bud, just borrowing this for a while'.

Same.  As in, "Trust me, I'm bringing this right back!"
Song has taken on a whole new meaning in the city I live in where unless grocery stores have security on site people will  side step cashier aisles with carts full of food and take them straight to their car and unload them. Nothing management can do to stop them. When they want something and don't want to pay for it

Simple fact
This song is almost 34 years old.

Hell.

Still sounds pretty fresh and vibrant to me.
I'm surprised no one has left a comment about the barking dogs yet.  Here's the story:

"The dog’s name was Annie, who had been adopted by singer Perry Farrell from an LA rescue center. Annie, as you might guess, was a little needy and didn’t like it when her human left for the day. Feeling bad for her, Perry took her to the studio the day he was recording some vocals. When he put on his headphones, Annie was a little confused and started barking.  It just so happens that the tape was running and those desperate “what-are-you-putting-on-your-head” barks were captured. Afterward, it was decided to add Annie to the song—and it works."

I was a club dancer when this song came out ("Graceland" - Vancouver) It was tough staying up on the tiny high-rise platform with floor lights glaring in my eyes while kicking up a storm in polished combat boots to this cheeky tune.
Good Times.
GREAT track from an Incredible album.
Stunning cover art too.

(Watch their movie "The Gift" ~ if you can find it.)
