oh, little girl they just don't know
about the weight that you carry in your soul
they just don't know about the fright
about the people and the things you like.
you know you've got nothing to prove
the conversations borderline on rude
and by the time you've had enough
how do you tell the one you love?

he'll never know about the times that you cried in the movies
never know about the times that you cried to the music
about your mother or your father or the way you got your broken heart
and just a look will be the start

oh no oh no it's not your style
why should you have to feel like you're on trial?
"i wonder if he is impressed.
should i have worn the other dress?"
you've never had a doubt about yourself
why should you take it, then, from someone else?
and if by now he doesn't see, maybe it wasn't meant to be

he'll never know about the times that you cried in the movies
never know about the times that you cried to the music
he'll never know about the feelings that you've had about him from the start

he'll never know about the times that you cried in the bedroom
about the times that you cried in the classroom
about your mother or your father or the way you got your broken heart
and just a look could be the start

I hear the same thing.

Exact same thought!
a) There are no girls in this band.
b) Lyrics are sweet, but sharply pointed.
c) I vote 8.
Can you give the world a twist / Just by doing the Twist?
Nice, especially for an all boys band!

How about Jackson Browne's "Somebody's Baby"?   Along with the other, obvious EC comparisons.
Am I the only one getting a lot of dead air and repeats right now?  Very unusual for RP!
Sorry @MeAlphaDog, but I have to notr I was sure this was Elvis Costello!

This sounds like early Elvis Costello. Not that that is a bad thing.

I hear the same thing.

Never heard of the Girls myself, until now that is.

This group consisted of 2 dudes, yet they called their group "Girls."

Irony?

Like the retro feel here,     7
Sing along with me, "that's the sound of the men working on the Chain Gang."
Something sounds a bit off with the quality. I just listened to the same song on YouTube to confirm and it didn't have the same quality issue
Just came back to RP after a few years away...in the first 30 minutes I hear Girls...saw them live in 2011 in a small San Diego venue and I was hooked. Father, Son and Holy Ghost album is a must hear if you like this entry! Too bad they broke up just after in 2012 :(
I was sure this was EC! I dig this sound - the early-RnR influence is clear.

Holy hell, I didn't know what you were talking about... right up until the vocals started. It was like getting smacked over the face with it.

I like it though.

Hmmm....some fresh tracks...at least for RP. Me likey
The intro had me thinking of Sam Cooke's Wonderful World.

Never heard of these guys.
Nice on first hearing....
