Threw a bottle
Across the water
To someone who's thinking of me
There's a tower
In the ocean
Pouring through me
That's my will and testament

I, I, I am waiting on the other side, sigh
Looked out into everything and I lie
Tell myself, "it's nothing", when it's quite right
Everything grows stronger in the light

When a boy who played with razors
Met a girl who opened cages
All the birds flew through the graveyard
And their laughter was contagious

I, I, I am watching on the other side, sighs
Looked out into every, nil and nigh
Lie, tell myself it's darkest when it's quite bright
Everything grows stronger in the light

In the light, in the light
Standing at the sea and swallowing
Without you, beside you
But you knew
What I knew

I, I, I am waiting on the other side, sigh
Looked out into everything and I lie
Tell myself, "it's nothing", when it's quite right
Everything goes
Everything grows
I am watching, I am waiting
I am waiting, I'm not breaking
I lie, tell myself, "it's okay", when it's not quite
Everything grows stronger in the light

Was front row for their recent show in Royal Oak, MI and this guy is hands down the most passionate singer I've seen in recent years. Very original. Very entertaining... and sweaty. Really dig this new record.

Stuck around and spoke with the drummer (very kind and grateful guy) for a while after the show and he shared that their songwriting is very communal where everyone contributes ideas. To me, that is the best kind of group. It deepens my appreciation for what they do knowing it's a true collective effort.
past islands: Dad iwo jima (corpsmam flag raising 1st flag mt suribachi) hospitalized guam, honshu, azores.
me: Guam, honshu, mare Island, Ford Island, oahu, landlocked garden spot Colorado , no more islands
He has a scowling singing style.  To me, he sort of sounds like John Bell of Widespread Panic.

My feelings exactly. Thanks for the words!
Bit weedy for my ears.  Rescued by "Big Time Sensuality" straight afterwards so all's good in the world.  Thanks RP.
I have seen the future - and it contains Islands.
David Bowie?

A glimpse of the future...

January 2024, eh.  I have to say that if I developed time travel technology, Bill would be the only person I'd trust with it.

Well, Future is in the band name. I assume this is a pre-release from the album.

First?! ;) Decent tune and better than others they have  (and I've never really been a fan)
