The female voice belongs to Teresa Salquiero, who was born in Lisbon in 1969. At the age of 17 she formed what became the most work-famous band that has ever come out of Portugal - Madredeus. She left the band 8n 2007, but they reformed and continued without her. She appears in the Wim Wenders movie "Lisbon Story".
Maybe not an actual mermaid, but equally magical (and from Lisbon).

I do like a mermaid.

Dang but Teresa Salgueiro's voice is stunning in this framework. Pushing this to an easy 8.
Sound like it should be interesting. Certainly unusual. Will probably take a number of listens to really get a handle on it. Unusual instrumentation, furshur. Opens with a tentative 6 from Naples on the Gulf

I hear a trace of Art Garfunkle in his voice. Nothing wrong with that.

ok. that is twice in one day. I like the song but...
J'adore Patrick Watson! Love the guy. From early stuff to now.
Could you play more from Patrick Watson, please! This is beautiful.

Mr. Watson has quite the symphonic imagination, and I always enjoy his interesting explorations. Thanks, RP!
Starting at a 7. It's rather nice.
Asked my mini nest who was playing and it was such a mouthful I had to come to the computer and see. Starting at at a 7
Close to Paradise was a good album.

Disappear so no one can hear
Dance like the world’s not watching
Somehow the streets they know your name
Where the words grow on walls like wildflowers
And the air tastes like sugar from the concrete’s fever
To the voice that helped you wander
You’re happy to go blind
Staring at the sun through someone else’s eyes
