I don't care if you never come home,
I don't mind if you just keep on
Rowing away on a distant sea,
'Cause I don't love you and you don't love me.
You cause a commotion when you come to town;
You give 'em a smile and they melt.
Having lovers and friends is all good and fine,
But I don't like yours and you don't like mine.
La la, la la la la la.
La la, la la la la la.
I don't care what you do at night,
Oh, and I don't care how you get your delights.
I'm gonna leave you alone, I'll just let it be,
I don't love you and you don't love me.
I got a problem. Can you relate?
I got a woman calling love hate.
We made a vow we'd always be friends.
How could we know that promises end?
[Bridge]
I tried to love you for years upon years,
You refuse to take me for real.
It's time you saw what I want you to see,
And I'd still love you if you'd just love me.
[Chorus]
[Bridge 2x]
I don't mind if you just keep on
Rowing away on a distant sea,
'Cause I don't love you and you don't love me.
You cause a commotion when you come to town;
You give 'em a smile and they melt.

Fun song to sing along with while drunk with friends
Not bad but too fluffy for anything better than 4.

Are you aware of what the vaccine did to him?
If you were, you'd likely reconsider who the "asshole" is.
Not saying the vaccine did not have an effect on Clapton but, two things:
1. He got the AstraZeneca vaccine
2. All the symptoms that he complained about after the vaccine he already had before receiving the vaccine as he has been suffering from neuropathy for 10 years.
It's one thing to have an anecdotal negative experience with the vaccine that was likely the result of both:
1. Use of a lesser quality vaccine (it is not an mRNA vaccine but rather a "carrier" vaccine) that is less effective against COVID and ALSO has more side effects
2. The fact that his preexisting conditions make his outcome different than those of the general population.
It's another to be an anti-vaxxer and campaign against the vaccine itself. This is where he went off the rails.
That being said, the use of the term "asshole anti-vaxxer" by the OP was rude and uncalled for. As are all the other recent comments on Clapton tunes by the anti-vaxxer cancel club.

Exactly. He's not an asshole because of his anti-vaxx stance. He's an asshole because he's racist. The anti-vaxx stuff just makes him an arrogant idiot.
And yes, I'm aware of Clapton's claims regarding how being vaccinated affected him.

This is like, If divorce had a catchy theme song!
It is one of my favorite Clapton tunes.

Even if this guy is an anti vaccine asshole he still made damn fine music

Certainly not my favorite Clapton tune, but dang, it's better than the total indifference it's generating here in the comments!
I AGREE!
Well dang...a Clapton song that doesn't make me consider PSDing...
I didn't like it when it came out. So you can guess my age. But growing older, one associates with the lyrics more and more....
