Hi All....

It's been so long!! Glad to see some of the same people are here! That's downright amazing! 

I've been busy doing the career-transition-thing.... Handbag designer to Social Worker. I'm knee deep into the Masters program ( who the hell would have thought ? Me in academia ! Joke )  ....My scheduled graduation  is December 2015. I just can't believe it!  I planned on freelancing while I went through this program to keep my foot in the  fashion door and get paid, but with my 3 kids ( 12, 7 & 2) it's been damn near impossible. School is my job now. I'm at internship 2x week, Tuesday & Thursday 9-5. Hospital Inpatient Psych unit...working with the most severe mentally ill patients. I was scared at first... I mean, 7th ave to a locked psych ward... not exactly in the same realm... you know?!

Anyway, with being gone 2x week all day( thank God for the support of my in laws and parents , they help with babysitting) and homework, reading, papers,,, my intentions of working & doing school have been foiled. My kids need their  Mom, so school is he focus now & I'm eager to graduate & get back  to earning some money!
I can't say this decision to change my career has been easy. I mourn the creativity of design,, but I have found that the creativity of writing my papers for class has quenched some of those creative desires. I've also been making doodle art as I call it. Nothing fancy, some markers, cray pas and fine tip pens & it's amazing the stuff that you can do!  

What I want to leave you with is this...the BEST part about this career change is freeing my heart. For 20 years in the design field, it was about competition, drive, deadlines, protecting myself , concealing my Motherhood  and domesticity to keep competitive with the young designers coming in,  feeling crushed and elated all in the same day....my heart was closed, fearful, worried. Now it's set free!!! ....Helping others, showing what is truly in my heart has been such a great release, such a blessing....and when a client says THANK YOU... I literally feel my heart squeeze with joy! ♥
