I'm serious... in southern Mississippi and southern Louisiana, inbreeding is a way of life...  it's a religion...  you can spot the people there who are the product of inbreeding...  some of them have three eyes...  one of their arms is always a lot longer than the other one...  sometimes their legs are like that, too...  their mouths don't close right...  you can spot them shuffling around in those little bitty towns from a block away...  they always marry their relatives...

Hmmmmm....makes me think of....

That must have been soooo cool...

One of my many wives and I lived in Hattiesburg, MS, for a couple years, where we used to ride around in the small hamlets and count the inbred people, and we spent a lot of time, mostly on weekends, in New Orleans in the French Quarter... but that was the early 1990's— long before Katrina...  I have not been there since the hurricane...  hope those folks are doing well these days...

KCRW is my favorite terrestrial radio station, easily. Maybe it's something in the EQ, but just turning it on immediately makes me feel like I'm on vacation.

Saw the B52s in New Orleans on the Riverboat. Someone throws some clothing on stage and Fred picks it up:

"WHAT a tacky SHOE!!" and you can likely imagine his exact intonation...

My daughter started going away to Girl Scout camp in 4th grade, and we had about a 1/2 hour ride to where she caught the bus. So, for the next 3 years, we always listened to Cosmic Thing on the way there and REMs Out of Time on the way home. It was a tradition.

Shiny Happy People is our song. Ah, fond memories...{#Angel}

One of my favorite songs by the B-52's is on Cosmic Thing—

B52's - Deadbeat Club
Cindy sings of Allen's Bar, but it is gone now, at least from where it was... that part of Normaltown has been taken over by illegal aliens working in the chicken plants in Athens...  I really can't complain because they do my yard work real cheap...

Allen's Bar may be making a comeback over on Hawthorne, but it won't be the same—

There is a song on the Wild Planet album called Dirty Back Road that absolutely melts me...

Dirty back road...
