Kids- modern day, middle eastern terrorism was invented by the KGB in the 1960s as a way to sabotage the energy source to the West by tying the US to Israel. The US has always fundamentally been a non-interventionist country. The middle eastern terrorist groups have always been controlled by the KGB. Terrorism is nothing more than a political tool.
Sadly, the genie will not be easily stuffed back in the bottle.

This just further illustrates the hypocrisy of the administration lecturing US citizens not to be wary of all Muslims and yet the same administration shows nothing but incompetency in the implementation and execution of safety precautions in terror prevention. What does it matter what US policy is if they cannot be trusted to know who is a potential threat and who is obviously not. I wonder how many of us are on no fly lists and just don't know it until we get to the airport?

Very nice to see your avatar (and post, of course) again on RP. I hope all is well in your world.

You see anybody from either party (other than Rand Paul) talking about this?
Nope. Paul was my original horse in the race and I wish he could do better, cuz he is the only one making any sense at all when it comes to foreign policy.
But, Trump has done more to get us talking about things that have been taboo and need to be discussed openly and settled if we are ever going to fix anything.
And how do I feel about how things are going presently ?
Just great ... Trump is what you get after 7 years of this ...
This is quite refreshing, been seeing more and more of this from mainstream Muslims. I think they are getting to the point where they are going to need to get involved in outreach to the more ignorant Americans who think that all Muslims are sympathetic with the extremists. Make no bones about it, the extremists are winning the pr battle. Their ultimate goal is all out religious war between Muslims and the rest of the world and those that have the knee jerk response that all Muslims are to be mistrusted and treated differently simply because of their religion (I am talking to you Donald Trump and all of your ilk) are falling right into their trap. Terrorism cannot be defeated with violence, this is a fundamental fact, a fact that our hypocritical President should take heed as well: Shiite Muslims hold anti-terrorism rally in Washington
This is interesting and I assume "we" went to school on this case. We had a pretty solid feeling that Tamerlan was radicalized but we didn't act on it. Not sure what else can be done but I'll bet some more industrial strength warrants are being issued right now if there are others like him that we're watching.
the US has had refugees that have come and gone back to the ME to fight
one example would be a few somalis from minnesota i think
Dunford concluded, “So, you see, ISIS is supported by Arabs, who are opposed by Iranians, who are both opposed and allied with the US, who is sort of allied with Turkey and the Kurds, who are opposed to each other. Since the enemy of my friend is now my enemy, it made sense for the US to bomb Israel, Iran’s bitter adversary.”
