I had a '56 Coupe DeVille, (2) Eldo Biarritz Convertibles dual quads, a Eldo Seville stainless hardtop and a Fleecewood. A '59 Couple DeVille and a '60 Fleecewood with 20k miles. Never paid more than $750 for one of them. Try doing that now. In fact those Eldos goes for just a tad bit more than that now. I got a ticket for doing 126 in the 46 Caddy. I told the cop I didn't know I was going that fast because the speedo only went to 115.

The picture was taken from the roof of my '59 Crap DeVille in 1971. And yep thats me as a long hair hippy freak. Back then i owned at least one of every model year Caddy from 1935 to 1964. We did a lot of horse trading in the Lake Michigan Cadillac LaSalle club back then.

Red_Dragon wrote: Wonder how much weight that added.
Seems like a bit of a sad thing to do to a '49 Caddy. Maybe they could have used the body panels as molds to make fiberglass replacements and embed the pennies in fiberglass/epoxy. That would save weight and you could always go back to the original body. That being said, it does look pretty sharp.

Red_Dragon wrote:That would the conning tower, mate. Tanks have turrets. tur•ret (ËtÉr ɪt, ËtÊr-) n.1. a small tower, usu. one forming part of a larger structure. 2. a small tower at an angle of a building, as of a castle or fortress, frequently beginning some distance above the ground. 3. a domelike structure, usu. revolving horizontally, in which a gun is mounted, as on an armored vehicle, ship, or aircraft. A conning on a sub would need to be watertight. For a warship it would have to be armed - then it could still be a turret. Of course I think any reasonable person would be fine defining that thing as a boat so I'm good with either.
And yes, I would drive it.

Yeah, I think that turret is from either a Studebaker or a Citroën.
