Then you must come to Palm Springs. It's full of that genre.
I just bid on a new house up in Yucca Valley that is a total take on Mid Century Mod.
And got the job.

Today was patch day.
I went to three different jobs to fix issues with drywall.
One place I went to, that I've been to before, is truly unique.
It's one of a couple of houses they call the "Ship of the Desert" in Palm Springs.
It sits up on Southridge Drive. Where Bob Hope had his house. Some very expensive homes up there.
Here's the view looking north out from the living room over the "Infinity Pool".
The odd looking round roof off to the left, which is across the street, is the famous Arthur Elrod designed home built in the 60's. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...
It was featured in the James Bond movie "Diamonds Are Forever". And other notable thingy's.

Palm Springs really celebrates the Mid- Century Modern style... https://visitpalmsprings.com/m...
It's funny. Back in the late 60's up to about 30 years ago they were kinda dumpy homes.
Then the gay guys moved in and embraced them. And now they are worth the big bucks.
I actually... almost... went to work for Albert Frey. A well known "Modernist" architect in Palm Springs back after I graduated high school.
I was going to become architect (landscape) and applied for a job there.
I realized good architects were like good athletes.
Very few make it big enough to make good money.

Things I saw today: A guy rummaging for change by the side of the road under the cushions of a sofa put out for trash pickup An old skeleton of a man stopping to gasp for air every 3 or 4 steps Another old man sitting on a bench talking to the thermals rising from the heated parking lot and smoking a fresh cigar A vulture grabbing a fresh squirrel from the middle of the road and carrying it to the shoulder for lunch
Weird. I saw almost all of those nouns, but not necessarily the verbs. Totally different experience.
