Last year's kale is growing again and tastes nice and sweet.
Garlic has broken ground and is about 3 inches tall
last season's carrots are still in the ground under a bed of leaves.
the forsythia is budded and showing bits of yellow.
Daffodils are leafed
various buds on the shrubs
Hellebore is blooming
Spring is just around the corner!

I'm envious.

Mind you, we're having what I think may be the warmest February here in years. I'll have to check the stats on that when I get time.

Not the earliest I've recorded but likely earlier than the mean date for the past 20 years since I moved here.

Hot part of the Bay Area - protected from the fog and last year it hit 112F. Dry and sunny - but I installed a nice drip system so there's hope.

Assuming Florida, you probably should go with plants. They should be in the ground before it gets too hot.

There is one from UnvFlorida called Garden Gem that is tastey. What you really need fown there is disease resistance. This somewhat limits your choice away from heirlooms.

There is one called Damsel that may be well suited. You can find seeds of that from johhny's Seed.
