Yeah, I saw that today.  It is a valid word, just not one I use often as I don't really like clams.  They are quite popular in this area though, so I hear it in the summer pretty often.

I never did find LITTLENECK

after i do my best on  my own, i only look for the hints one that is by KERRY D or something like that that give you the first 3 letters and how many words start with those 3 letters. i don't read the ones that read like crossword clues. ymmv.
