People went west for gold, yes (or beaver pelts, or free land, or some other dream of easy riches). Alas, a hell of a lot or raping and pillaging of anything that got in the way was an accepted part of that movement . . . and it remains so in environmental terms, if perhaps less so in cultural ones.

There is a "File>show duplicates" which will show you the duplicates (obviously) but you have to select them to delete them.
