It is interesting to read back through this thread.  How things change!  Lots of early posts debating the subway.  Now, in 2010, I would rec'd buying an unlimited metro card and never using a taxi.  I've taken the subway at midnight from the Upper West Side to Park Slope by myself.  And I'm not brave.  Wanna know what did scare me?  Completely traumatized after? Driving in the city. No not me driving, I'm not insane.  But riding in the back of a car.  Seriously people, that is taking your life too cheaply.

Will you be there?  I remember my friend's photos from last year - looked like a great time.  Of course she is a complete doll and looked amazing in her vintage swimsuit.  NY has cool parades every other weekend it seems.  There was an Easter Hat street festival or something like that last time I was there.
