Well, I met her Sunday morning
She said, "I thought you were dead"
She was singing good and loud
To the songs in her head
She's got Heaven in her pocket
And it jangles with her change
Down a pedestrian thoroughfare
To God's own radio

She said, "nothing ever mattered
'Cos nothing ever changes
All the lies that you wrote
Are ripped from my pages
I don't need you no more
And I'll never look back
'Cos I'm tuned in now
To God's own radio"

There's a sound on the airwaves
That's tripping the scene
We've got the number one song
If you know what I mean
From the back end of nowhere
To Idaho
Hey, look out here we go,
It's God's own radio

Well, I can't abandon
The thought that she's sinking
I look in her eyes
And I know what she's thinking
She says, "hey, you can't touch me,
You aint seen the light"
Hell, you got that right.
On God's own radio
I only met her in the morning
And by ten – fifteen
She was trying to turn me
To the clean–living scene
Well, I made my excuses
Said I had to go
She's got her own show
On God's own radio

There's a sound on the airwaves
That's tripping the scene
We've got the number one song
If you know what I mean
From the back end of nowhere
To Idaho
They don't play Rock and Roll
On God's own radio

Oh, except God wouldn't play Rush.

That's pretty funny. But I have to say, Moving Pictures is really very good.
Why does everyone try to associate a good song with another...let it go.
Some songs sound alike, some songs are ripped off & some songs have a similar bass line or vocal line. SOOO!
That guitar riff really makes me think of a slowed down guitar from Red Hot Chile Peppers cover of Higher Ground...
this reminds me of danny elfmans band…
Loved the transition from John Lee Hooker to this track, with which I was I was unfamiliar. Unimitable human DJ touch.
I prefer Mohammed's Radio any day, but that's stiff competition.

Radio Paradise :)
Somebody needs a nap. "Hit the singer in mouth"? I'll classify your comment to a bad. It's only Rock and Roll but I like it. ₤7.7

What a fun headphones song! (What they do with stereo effects...)

I only get that urge with certain instrumental songs.

Umm....I don't get it :^ / This song is so freakin' cool. Woo hoo. The only thing wrong with it is it's too short.

"Wild Wild West" at the country bar....

Holy crap!! same band did that song? Hated that song when it came out back in 91 or 92.  This one is much much better.
I like this song.  Some of the bad comments are probably from people who can't get over this band's past pop work. If I told you this was some new band called The Saince Seven, you would probably think it is a cool song. So much better than the lame Natilie Merchant crap that is played way too often here.
Derivative is the best I can say of this. Dead 60s and Arctic Monkeys basically ought to have a half case for plagiarism each.
Every now and then you hear a song and you just have this irrational urge to punch the singer in the mouth.  This is one of those songs.

Well, it's okay, but this sucker rocks.

I can't believe I've been listening to this on RP all this time, thinking they were singing "Got some radio."  I guess I never looked at the song title until now!

Why does he say "if you know what I mean"? That implies that what he actually means is something else? Is "Number One song" a euphemism for something?!?

You're assuming this wonderful piece of pop fluff was written with lyrical meaning?  I'm just going to assume it fills in the meter and rhyme scheme -- and that's it.

I'm thinking an 8 is appropriate.  Got my feet moving under the desk, and acted as a nice little 'palate cleanser', if you know what I mean.
I like it but..... I actually don't what you mean.
7 > 9 - serious jump.

Love the geeetars in the break.  great set that began with the BOC !

Instant 8 on first listen.

Reminds me of a track by "The Sandmen".

Hmm no English wiki so you will have to use translate https://da.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sandmen

I suspect he is genuinely asking a question.

As clearly he hasn't the foggiest notion as to what he "means".

It may just be in there to get the rhyme with "trippin' the scene."

Wow.  These guys certainly have evolved.  Unless "Wild Wild West" was not indicative of their sound at the time.

Love the huge turnaround, Escape Club.  Keep it coming.  (BTW, always enjoyed Wild Wild West when it came on the radio, now reading on Wikipedia that it was banned in the UK for being sexist and offensive?  Where was I?)
Shades of Gary Myrick and the Figures Batman!
This is getting a lot of play here. Maybe too much?

FINALLY A SONG ABOUT RP - CONGRATS BILL+REBECCA!
Went to see them last night at The Mint in LA, they were awesome!!! Hope they do more gigs soon.

The radio has been many wonderful things to many people over the duration of its existence. Mostly fantastic "theater of the mind" . In my day...we bought them from department stores and they were larger than a shoebox and smaller than a microwave oven and we would carry them on our shoulders close to our ears loud enough to drown out the immediate surrounding urban noise. Of course, everyone within a 100' radius would be subjected to the radio's theater as well. We also bought a lot of cassette tapes to be played on the radio device (carried in purse like satchel on opposing hip for counterbalance) and twice as many D-cell batteries to play radio.  AHH, the good ole' days of yore. Atari, IROCS and Zima.

I'm still trying to figure out how this is the same band made popular by "Wild, Wild West" in the 80s.
This is played way too much on here! 14 times in the past month??
Pretty sure RP is God's Own Radio!!
Thank you for the new music.. its what I listen for in RP... more of this? NEW GREAT STUFF

Very cool track that I would call Modern Blues Rock like the new Black Keys or Jack White with humrous lyrics.
A fabulously catchy tune!  These guys are back in a major way.
Great song!  One of many on this album.  The Escape Club is back and they haven't wavered.  The sound is still refreshing, youthful and timeless.  People of any age would enjoy this album.
Wow! So blown away by this whole album, can not stop listening to it! Love love love it!!
Great song - though my fav on this album is "Waiting for the Sun"! Welcome back guys!!!!

I don't agree, I think the whole album is amazing!
Love this tune, it has that blues meets techno thing

I like it! At almost 3 p.m. on the East Coast - sitting at my desk - it woke me up and got my toes tapping! Good sound.
