Have always loved this sound in general. It recalls, for me, instrumental surf of '59 - '64 before the Beatles arrived that February.
Way better than the album cover evoked!!!
I for one welcome our new overlords
When aliens watch nothing but the Lone Ranger tv shows before invading

A 9 (purely based on the band's name)

Given the album cover I might have named this tune "Back to Roswell" instead.
Sounds a bit like pre-Calexico Friends of Dean Martinez.

the guy behind the mask on the cover is a mexican drug lord!
Haha, okay, the Sonora closest to me, then. Makes sense.

I think it's a pretty cool cover - nice drawing, good colors - but the non-hyphenated break of the band name is a little disappointing. The artwork looks like the work of Daniel Clowes - or someone mimicking his style. Nice tune.
That is one ugly album cover.

Der Twangers need another gear in their transmission to pique my interest.
That is one ugly album cover.
... with a 2012 release date. Hmmmm.
When this began to play, I thought it was going to be a Wesley Willis song.
Every surf rock song should have a bit of melancholy imho. This one's a nice example.

OHHH no. I don't wanna be the first to comment on this song. There's too much pressure on me to say something interesting or smart or even relevant. But I couldn't resist being first at SOMETHING> even if this song reminds me of Area 51.. no that's not a band reference, its the place where they have the aliens.
