The thing I always remember about Simple Minds... When U2 listened to New World Dream and Bono realized that U2 would be compared to the genius of SM, he shat a might fine shit.

I bought this album on the strength of this song (and some of the more notable tracks on it)... never looked back and never regretted it once.

Oh so much more to Simple Minds than this song... I think this is the only SM song I've heard on RP, maybe another from Street Fighting Years (Belfast Child)? I concur with the comments below about New Gold Dream: it's one of my absolute favorite albums of all time. Timeless. (Will check out the covers recommendation.)

Hmmmm Simple Minds.... saw them about 16 or 17 years ago in Germany.... what a fab feeling they created! Kerr involved everyone in the hall! Always loved their bombastic sound. Somehow there's something majestic and Scottish about it... not my favourite song by them, but still a gem!

This is technically the second SM CD I owned; the first one was "live in the city of light", but Disc 1, while printed with the right CD silkscreen, actually had "Song of the South" as the audio tracks. Very, very odd. Returned it the next day(they were a bit crabby about it, which I found amusing), though I wondered later if maybe I had a collector's item. Bah. I like this song, it's on my short list of tracks to use when evaluating car stereo equipment.
