Whats this "Mandalorian" thing you're talking about that came out 21 years ago?
Pink floyd kinda keyboards. Echos! Its a good tune but dont fill my bag.also abit of division bell sound in there ;-) .
I was just picking up a Led Zeppelin vibe! Presence, I think...
Good Tune!
Bloody Good Tune! and also a great song by the way.
One of these days I may write a filter to block all comments containing the phrase "ripped off". All music borrows from other music, all artists are influenced by other artists, and there are only so many pleasing chord progressions. Wholly original music is extremely rare, and quite often difficult to listen to.
but not 🤷

Oh Bill... You know we love it when you talk all authoritarian and slightly dictatorial
Then you go and spoil it by talking sensibly for most of your post...
I didn't realise you were in charge round here. Quick question though - what is the point of the comments, in your opinion? Is it a circle jerk designed to reinforce whatever you happen to think at any one time?
PS. My parents died in 1994 and they didn't have a basement.
So you've been living in your car since 1994.
You should get out more.
Best wishes
I really wish people would stay off the music social media unless they have something positive to say. That's the only reason music fans are here. The comment thread for this song is largely a diatribe of negativity. I don't really care to hear people's overhyped opinion about what's wrong with this song or any other. New rule: if somebody goes online to diss a song, we will assume that you live in your parents basement because you can't find a job. How about go write a and angry Yelp review about a restaurant where the waiter did not smile enough, and stay off here.
YOU VILL AGREE VIT MEIN OPINION OR ELSE!

VERY WELL STATED!!
Ripple > Fishing = Happy Wrangler
RIP Jerry & Mikey, the guitarists in the band in my head
That would be a nice segue, sorry I missed Ripple! Wow, Fishing followed by Ain't No Sunshine by Eva Cassidy... superb! Man, Do miss Jerry!

it seems each moment is dependent on every moment that has occurred prior to it
Look after the king of R n R please
Will you please explain what you're going on about? It's getting seriously old.

Correct.
One shouldn't accuse someone of "ripping off" another artist when it may well be the other way around.

WSP show memories.... Just heard Coconuts on the radio up here keeping motivated during lock down. Just saw Big Head Todd in norcal on same tour. They were awesome as was JD Simo. Missing some live shows for sure right now.
Correct.

There's too much of that in these comment threads anyhow, often from people who seem to know little about music history and/or theory. It's a damn synthesizer in this song; they've been widely used in popular music for over 50 years.
PT - Arriving Somewhere But Never Here is waaayyyyy better! (This isn't bad, but Arriving Somewhere is one of my favorite songs.)
Correct.

I think this came first ...
Ripple > Fishing = Happy Wrangler
RIP Jerry & Mikey, the guitarists in the band in my head
Agreed...!! Me like lots!!
But - who came with the sound first... WP started in '86ish according to wikipedia... me need to research!!
To me this seems like a sound which long preceded either band. Plenty of bands from the 1960s and '70s had tunes with this sort of mildly psychedelic groove. I guess we all hear different things though.

It's that strange warbly sound in the background - I think it is an effects modulation on the keyboards.
Bumping Lazarus' comment for spring 2015
This song is soooo good it puts a spring in my step again this winter day...
on January 27th, Widespread Panic will play in la República Dominicana...
Lots of JJ Cale influence in their work.
It's not that bad of a cover - I've seen many album covers that are much worse than that one.
Book......cover......
absolutely awesome... love it...
yep
I see roadtrips in my future!
First time hearing this, and I'm digging it.
Yes, nice stuff. Somewhat Porcupine Tree-ish, imo.
And one of the all-time great band names.
First time hearing this, and I'm digging it.
From 'Earth To Atlanta' - 2006
I got to get this CD and I can't find it in any record/music retailers, guess I must go to Amazon and I think you should too.
Panic has a terrific range, Country to Rock, slow, fast, they do it all.
Holden Oversoul is my fave!
Always loved their tune "Hatfield" too
Thought he'd never leave!!
You funny!!!
Er where's the angst?

all y'all mad about a comment that this rips off Porcupine Tree, meanwhile I'm here like IS THIS THE MANDALORIAN THEME WITH WORDS? lol

I didn't mean to imply that this song rips off the Mandalorian theme (of course that's impossible), only that the main riff really reminds me of the Mando theme song (maybe intentional or accidental interpolation on the part of Mando composer Ludwig Göransson).
