This is my #1 fave track on RP. It's spellbinding on a good stereo that can handle the basslines.

GREAT TUNE!!  Excellent in FLAC through really good equipment. Thanx RP!

...right after James Brown does "The Girl From Ipanema"!  LOL!

So thrilled to turn on RP and hear this. I uploaded it maybe 15 years ago and it was accepted...but then never played! I checked on it periodically over the years, and it just sat gathering dust in the RP music vault. Now it looks like it's actually getting the rotation it deserves. It gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it.

Thank you for recommending! Fabulous!!!
I like this, it's so strange and wonderful
KISS do not belong anywhere near this master… yikes and I actually was a KISS fan when I was young.
Apropos of not very much, Gene Simmons had a song called Sweet Pain on the KISS album Destroyer. This one is pretty good too.

EXCELLENT!! I never heard of him before this.  Thanx RP!

Fellow RP listener:

These are clearly the wrong lyrics. This is from Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's 30 minute epic "Sun Dard Kahani Karbala Di" (YouTube).

According to TheSufi.com (Link), "Sweet Pain" was a collaboration between NFAK and Peter Gabriel as a way of introducing the artist to the western world.  The sound world greatly resembles Gabriel, so it makes sense.  The lyrics are also taken from the title of a popular love song "Ni Saiyyo Assan Naina de Akhay Laggay," which are repeated throughout.  The last half of the track features a type of 'scat' singing of the same lyric.

Peter Gabriel is a musical prospector. He explores and discovers treasures which shares with the West. He almost always brings gold.

Damn! I was trying to identify that drum, and it's from Stranglehold. Nice.

You can hear the same rapid-fire snare (and guitar strumming) as well a similar bass line groove on Jimi Hendrix's Machine Gun which predates Nugent's Stranglehold by about 5 years:

I Always stop what I am doing when this comes on....
Love the atmosphere it creates and how it shifts in time.

Is it just me or can you hear Stranglehold ( Nugent) referenced? Super cool

New to me today - really diggin' this one.  Another interesting one missed along the way...thanks RP!
I’ve been listening to the departed NFAK for 30 years and this album is one of my favorites that he’s done. Too bad he can’t share more of his remarkable voice with this world.

Love this bass-forward melody. Fuck yes.
Hmm... pretty sure there was something like this on the soundtrack to Natural Born Killers..? Think it was that scene where Mickey goes batshit (as he tends to) and kills the Native American fella.

Don't  believe I've ever heard this on RP, main mix that is.
But it was played 11 times on the World etc. Mix in the last 30 days.

Dig the rapid scat portion near then end.
Going with a 7 to start.
Legend NFK Michael Brook one of the best base guitar piece
This came right after Hancock's Cantaloupe Island. What a great transition.
