Kalbimde bir yaranin izi kaldi sevgilim
Askimizda ellerin gozu kaldi sevgilim
Gonlumun baharinda solmayan bir cicektin
Yalanci şu dunyada sen her seyden gercektin
Ayrılık, ayrılık günü bugün
Ayrılık, ayrılık günü bugün
Bugun ayrilik gunu, dokulsun gozyasimiz
Fani dunyaya dondu gercek olan askimiz
Sevilmeden sevilmez kuru agac egilmez
Kalp allah yapisidir, kalbe asla egilmez

Gunaydin! (Good Morning)!
Sexiest voice in a while. Awesome tune, also.
Yes! More turkish music please!
Portions sound like Tighten Up by Archie Bell and The Drells
Rhythm of Turkish pop reveals itselt at first 20 seconds
got a great Italian Cafe cd from the same Putumayo chaps

So, wait, this catchy little number actually has a lower rating than a bunch of "songs" by Dengue Fever?...okay then...

Gorgeous woman, delightful voice and I love the album cover.

Not a bad song but I really don't think this represents the Turkish music scene at all. This is probably a continuation of Western Orientalism.

You need to play 3Mustaphas3 after this!
Loving the cultural appropriation here. Beautiful mix of western and middle eastern influences. All that and it seriously swings.

Weird - today Google Translate gives me this translation:
There is a scar in my heart darling Your hands are in our love, darling You were an unfading flower in the spring of my rose In this liar world you were real after all Separation, today is the day of separation Separation, today is the day of separation Today is the day of separation, let our tears be touched Our real love froze to the mortal world Dry tree is not bent without being loved The heart is God structure, the heart never bends Separation, today is the day of separationSeparation, today is the day of separation

my finger was hovering over the 1 button thinking this was Tori Amos, then I listened a while and got into it!

Surprised, greetings from turkey, bursa. Thanks for your great service I <3 RP
I really wanted to hate this song, it's Turkish after all and my family and the Turks have issues going back to 1448 :-) Pretty nice tune though, I guess I can't hold the grudge forever. :-)
I knew a song is coming from Turkiye, Greece, or Azerbeycan. It's clear in the first seconds. Guitar rhythm is so common.

Btw, the original song was released by Neşe Karaböcek in 1974,
There is a wound scar in my heart my love
People begrudged our love my love
You were a flower which doesn't fade at the springtime of my heart.
In this liar world, you were more real than everything.
Break up,break up
is today
break up,break up
is today
Today break up day,let our tears fall out
Our real love has turned into mortal world
One can't love without being loved, dry tree doesn't bend
Heart is made by god, heart is never touched.
Break up,break up
is today
break up,break up

Putamayo is a great label; they publish really fine music from all over the world!
I just put that CD on my wishlist.

Well familiar with a song I never hear elsewhere, any y'all understand the meaning? I had it explained to me.
Really good choice. But I prefer original version from NEŞE KARABÖCEK! :)
I am wishing surprise from life.
At least I listen 10 hours a day Radio Paradise, I am very suprised when I hear a Turkish music from my language. Göksel is a very talented musician..
I'm very surprised! I would love to hear more Turkish music RP, thanks! :)

In my heart, the trail of a loser remained darling
Our love was left in our hands, darling
A fade in the spring of the god
You are the liar in the world, you are all right
Separation, separation day today
Separation, separation day today
Today is the day of separation,
We are the real answer to the mortal world
Unbelievable dry tree stalks in love
The heart is god, the heart never learns

I don't remember the last time I heard this or when I rated it with a 7, but just now, hearing the vocalist, I feel moved to give it an 8! 🌟
Jangling guitar, subdued percussion, and funky bass line ... not that far removed from a good Motown rhythm section.

"Separation. Separation day, today." Pretty boring Turkish pop IMHO. Slightly better than most of the Turkish pop (oh so boring stuff, if you've heard one song, you've heard all of them). But only slightly.

made me dance around like a turk! i own this cd and there are a couple of songs on it that i don't like, but mostly, i enjoy it!

Fresh, fast, and energizing... thanks!
I had forgotten about Putamayo, used to have a ton of this stuff. Two songs in a row which would be great for the series Homeland.

I enjoy music of a foreign tongue now and then. Villiam Hayes, what is that taped to you stomach ?
I have this CD, but I tend to skip this song. There's many better tracks on this CD, Bill!
:D ur funny bill.. where did you get this ? tho I must admit you chose well among many other Turkish music :)

Cok guzel.
Might be the most irritating song I've ever heard - right up there with Barney the dinosaur's theme song
Turkish Groove is a good description of this music.
I've heard this song for the first time even I live in Turkey.
This may be the first Turkish song I've ever heard in RP!
I don't like these tunes like GOksel but it was really surprising to hear some Turkish stuff.
thnx RP!
Beautiful voice. I don't care about understanding the words. The voice is like an instrument. See David Blamires and Mark Ledford singing with Metheny. No words, just amazing voices.

It's okay but mostly indistinguishable from other songs of the genre.
i like the segway... Istanbul not Constantinople to turkish music...
I don't care what the words mean; she can sing them all day with a voice like that.
We seem to be on a "round the world" tour of music. Thanks RP!
Love this. Love her voice. Love the beat.
Very turkish!!

I second that.
Also, the poster who thought he could hear what's going on in her mouth, when she gets to the end of a phrase, there's a weird guttural popping, like she's swallowing and hiccuping at the same time.
The instruments are quite nice however.
This is hardly spectacular, but I'm having a hard time figuring out what is so DREADFUL about it. Seems innocuous enough to me.

I am generally tollerant of music, and haven't written a thumbs down since joining this
forum over a year ago, but this song needs to be taken to an alley and played to cats
in heat.... my guess is it's getting air time in the US bacause it's banned in Turkey (and perhaps the whole Middle East, Europe, Russia , the Netherlands , Spain , France, England —-lets see what did I miss ?

I am a bellydance student and we normally dance to Egyptian or Turkish music and I love it but this song I do not care for. I think it's more the vocals than anything else.

It frightens me that when I leave my dog at home alone listening to RP, he is unable to skip through painful dreck like this! I hope his little doggie ears are ok...
OK. Chill, everybody. It's just a song. You may not like it, but let's reign in the extreme rhetoric, OK?
