very nice. owes alot to Weather Report of course. Joe Zawinul is all over this.
Bonobo!!! Totally!!
Intro reminiscent of Pat Metheny Group's "First Cirlce".
Never heard this one before. Good stuff for sure. Takes me back to a time of being young and free, living in Chicago in my 20s and pondering the significance of what my latest fling last said to me... good times.

La Boulange > Animals. Two of my favorite instrumental tracks on RP back to back. Love it. Thanks RP.
Inspiring me to hear some jazz after this fine tune!

Sure stinks of tongue in cheek to me. A lot of jokesters around here which just adds to the comment amusement.

Exactly. In the song comment threads here it often appears as if many listeners believe that almost nothing existed before Pink Floyd. Not only was all music derived from them, but language too it seems.
I read somewhere Harvest and Columbia Records required Pink Floyd to register the word "Animals" as trade dress and mark. Apparently no one is allowed to use it without permission. Who knew?

By far my favorite Bonobo piece of those in rotation on RP

For the curious, the cover photo is of Derwent Water, in the UK Lake District, with the ridge of Catbells behind, take from the Castlerigg campsite.

I love Bonobo
This is one of his best album imho.

One pill makes you larger and one pill makes you small was what I was hearing during the intro.

Pink Floyd fan. No surprise here.
P F fan here, and I think it'fabulous. Ill be checking it out on Spotify, as if the rest sounds like similar quality I'll be purchasing the CD. But I'm seriously not getting the connection between being a Pink Floyd music fan and disliking this tune. Is it because you dislike PF and therefore presume that anyone who likes them simply must be a musical numbskull?

Well guys, and I say that because most of the comments on the forum are from male listeners, the reason is probably because the demographic is from a certain age and Pink Floyd were seminal in their musical enjoyment and appreciation.
I reckon in another ten years the references to Pink Floyd will have abated only to be replaced by... Porcupine Tree or the next big influence on the next demographic.
I hope to be around in ten years to see if my theory turns out to be correct

This sounds like Paul Winter Consort.

Is there a new saxophonist on RP? Grover Parker Coltrane Redman?
Bonobo is an amazing musician. A solid 10 for this song.

Digging the jazz on RP!!
This one reminds me of Sting's Dream of the Blue Turtles. No song in particular, just the groove.
9/10 and I'm not sure why I don't give it a 10.

Not to say opinions can be right or wrong... I'm just amazed at that. I think this song, and Bonobo's whole catalog, is magnificent.

This is mildly entertaining
Grounding transparently a genius in my sweet old etcetera is not same as sequencing it.
Brilliant

A Love Supreme was on somebodys turntable in heavy rotation. Which is fine.
Wasn't expecting a jazz-y Coltrane-y thing-y. Nice-y.
Not bad!
A little too much warble and noodle for me. Sounds like Kenny G.
Reminds me of a band we put together back when I was institutionalized for delusional thinking. We were certainly deluded into thinking we were playing music.
Loving it !

Wow, nice turn Bonobo!
This reminds me of Oregon (the group, not the state). I like their more straight-ahead style.

Perfect
Great drum work.
Bonobo usually has songs with a nice Jazz overtone mixed in. Here the squawky jazz runs riot, and goes horribly awry. Gack.
Love it!
Reminds me of Branford Marsalis during the Dream of the Blue Turtles tour.
Is this being played by bonobos?
Bonobo sweet sounds!
Snazzy....very snazzy,

This kind of jazz always has me imagining the sound studio separating the musicians and having each one play a different tune entirely and then mashing the tracks together... in other words, random crap that has me reaching for the off switch.
WOW! In a GREAT way. (Although he so very obviously ripped off Pink Floyd for the song title.)
sounds like an instrumental John Martyn.
MUTE
Just like a lot of jazz, the sax solos sound like a beginner running their fingers up and down the keys randomly...
Reminds me of Coltrane.
Mebbe it's just me, but if you squint your ears a bit some of this track has a bit of a Cinematic Orchestra feel to it. Could be I just need better speakers. Good tune nonetheless.
I'd love to know where the cover photo was taken as it looks so familiar to me, as someone who's walked the Highlands of Scotland for a couple of decades. It's definitely a Scots pine in the foreground, and the background looks like a classic glen loch. There's a larger picture in the background of Bonobo's website which I'm kicking myself for not recognising - it'll come to me later, I'm sure. Interestingly, to me at least, according to the Wikipedia page Bonobo is just one guy working with other musicians on an 'as and when' basis.
Good music for bedroom gymnastics
I own Dial M for Monkey. I guess I'll be owning this one too soon. Very nice. I heard a couple of cuts from this release, but this one really clinches it for me. They've really evolved nicely.
This sounds like a 90% copy of Cinematic Orchestra. Still nice though.
Kinda Oy Va Voy-ish in a good way. I like it.

This is a great new cd from Bonobo. Not the track I would have chosen but lovely to hear it here. The drumming, as usual, is outstanding.
I saw Bonobo play live this year at a festival. It was great to see him drift to the back of the stage playing bass and letting his musical chums do their thing. He had a smile on his face throughout. Great stuff.
