Tell me there's a full moon rising
Big and bright on the horizon
Are you feeling strange
A butterfly falling
Thought that it would be so easy
Paid our debts and now you're leaving
Closing your eyes
Got your mama's eyes
Chorus
It wouldn't tear love apart for this
Standing by the door in your red dress
You're just a little girl hiding in the dark
Tell me how does it feel when the lights go up?
You've always got to go on, boy
And now you've gone and done it all
Driving by the old school building
Always looking for something
What you looking for?
What you looking for?
Tell me has the world gone crazy
Or do we just put it all on hold?
Looking for love
What a big idea
It wouldn't tear love apart for this
Standing by the door in your red dress
You're just a little girl hiding in the dark
Tell me how does it feel when the lights go up?
You've always got to go on, boy
And now you've gone and done it all
You've always got to go on, boy
And now you've gone and done it all
Tell me there's a full moon rising
Big and bright on the horizon
Are you feeling strange
A butterfly falling
I don't know much about nothing
But I know what I believe in
If you've got a plan
I got a reason
If you've got a plan
I got a reason
It wouldn't tear love apart for this
Standing by the door in your red dress
You're just a little girl hiding in the dark

It's a pretty traditional style of British folk music - Nick Drake was influenced by the folk singers who came before him. Yes, no right.

On a related note, the new Slowdive album is quite good - hope we hear something from it on RP soon.
Recommend it to people you think deserve it. RESPECT
Neil Hastead, along with Gregory Alan Isakov, is among the very best kinds of Healing Medicine for me. Such soul-soothing music they make; such relaxing moods they evoke! And, Thanks, RP, for all the GREAT MUSIC!
if you like this, look up March by Jack O Pierce, ideally the live acoustic version. Because I thought at first this was a cover of that song because the versus have same melody and same guitar style. This was an enjoyable song, first time hearing it, but reminds me a ton of that song by JoP

Beautiful. I've been a fan since the good ols Slowdive days of the early 90's. I just wish I could write 100 reviews.

Cover art appears to depict Great Horned Owls, though playfully, is intended to represent Barred Owls, is my hunch, on this palindromic date: 2/22/22.

Heard this tune - and artist - for the first time here on RP. It made me pause and listen. Loved it. Beautiful song.
I think of my daughters too when I hear this song. Used to listen to it many days while picking them up from school.

Song was just waiting for the Pandemic. We’ll get through this. Thx coach!
Leaves me with a quizzical smile... very good tune... thanks
Nice cruising mellow tune. Just letting us know all is well with the world. Xx

Wonderful song. (heart) Love the viola.

Simply beautiful! Thanks RP .. good listen on a wintry Sunday afternoon in Northern Ontario! and the sun is shining :)
In general on RP many people are hearing. They should try to listen instead. Anyway, this song has the thing for me.
I've been raising all of my ratings lately. I think this is a positive trend for me. A brighter outlook?? Thanks RP!
This melody reminds me of the important role I have as a Dad to a teenage daughter. She is going to perform as Sugar plum in Nutcracker in a couple weeks, and I am right now sewing for the Arabian costumes. Our young women are beautiful in ways we don't yet know. A Happy Thanksgiving for all our wonderful daughters!

Lovely song. Sweet spirit. But wistful, almost melancholy. Segueing to a track that moves the decibel needle.
More Ralph McTell than Nick Drake...

Pleasant enough, but the comparisons to Nick Drake are way off, IMO. This guy is nowhere near as talented as Drake.

Beautiful melancholy. Maybe it's best for those inclined to be wistful to PSD past this and rustle up some Los Lobos. This would sometimes include me. But I listen to it anyway.

If John Belushi were alive, he'd smash this guy over the head with his own guitar.
Personally, I enjoy this uber-mellow stuff, although I prefer Gregory Alan Isakov.

So much of this Crap music is overplayed on RP.. Sad :-(
Looking at the distribution of your song ratings here on RP calle01, I am wondering why you ever listen to RP? It would appear that you, very much more oft than not, are finding the music loathsome. Just seems odd. Why torture yourself?

LOL. I was in Mayan territory last week and all our guides derided the 2012 stuff. They said the Mayans didn't predict that at all.

Never heard of this guy, but what a pretty voice and a pretty song. Nice treat!
Lovely and evocative, but wistful, almost melancholy. Not music for, say, the lovelorn on a rainy, gloomy day.
some pretty stuff on his Mojave3 albums.
It's ok I guess
