Shape shifter
Thousands in the air
Moving as one
Magic fucks the rejects
I'm speechless on the ground
Black blizzard round a cold, grey sand

Winter's on the way
Think we're gonna make it out
If we stick together now
If we stick together now

Too many times we fight
Turning day into night
Kicking up fire right up
But the colors underneath they burn
I turned you on fire
And loved the very one I scorned

Winter's on the way
Think we're gonna make it out
If we stick together now
If we stick together now

Winter's on the way
Think we're gonna make it out
If we stick together now
If we stick together now

Shape shifter
Thousands in the air
Moving as one

I would like to hear a heavy grunge cover of this song. Are you up for it, Thrice?
The modern equivalent of the Old Grey Whistle Test.  The Reach For Your Mouse Test when you hear something new and worth knowing about on RP.

This is very nice.

Yes spot on, I also hear "Angie" in there
Radio paradise introduced me to this musician. Her most recent album includes Mountains of the Moon, one of the Grateful Dead's most intriguing and in some ways transcendent songs. It is beautifully done. That decision alone sets Laura Veirs apart from any crowd.
She and her band are fantastic live if you get a chance to see them.

Yes, my immediate thought was that it was Anna Ternheim, particularly with what sounds like a dry Scandinavian accent, though going by her Wikipedia entry she's not been anywhere near Sweden. She's certainly had an interesting life so far...

Lovely song, lovely voice. I'll keep an ear out for more of her work. 8 from the entranced Nottingham jury.

I agree.

Beautiful

Clouds (Jayhawks), That's Where You're Wrong (Arctic Monkeys)-two kick a$$ songs followed by this smooth Laura Viers,...now that's a superb transition followed by a Josh Ritter starting on the same musical note/tone that Laura ended upon is an even greater testimony to Bill G's programming ability.  His is some on the best I've heard,...and being in the business and even creating a degree program in Radio/TV and teaching same I've heard and known more than just a few.

Now THAT was an awesome transition from Elton John/Sixty Years On!

Talent of the DJ shining through as brightly as the talent of the musicians!
Very nice.

Similar tempo and it's in a minor key. Several notes of the verse sound similar to "Angie" and the chord change is similar (I-minor to V-7th), but over all it's a different chord progression than that song  or "Hotel California" which was also brought up.

I'm getting Hotel California.

Yep, it does.
Nice album artwork.
A nice little tune and an artist worthy of further investigation.
Purely awesome!
She opened for Neko Case here in Richmond Va.
There I was, about to post something about the Queen. . . and then I realised that perhaps she was not singing about lizards.
most excellent indeed..
Come on RP, it's Friday afternoon - liven it up!
