Running with bulls, working my miracles
Holding my world together with a boot string
Living the dream, Benzos and gasoline
Coffee and blue light screens 'til the morning
If I tell you this is drowning, you'd tell me I'm walking on water
I could bring fire from the mountain, you'd tell me it feels a little colder
I don't wanna
Choose between being a salesman or a soldier
Just let me look a little older, let me step a little bolder
Choose between being a butcher or a pauper
Honey, I'm taking no orders, I'm gonna be nobody's soldier
Sick to my skin, watching the news again
Whatever you choose, you lose out in the long run
The paint on the walls come down like a waterfall
The goal I was aiming for was the wrong one
If I say that this is drowning, you'd tell me I'm walking on water
I could bring fire from the mountain, you'd tell me it feels a little colder
I don't wanna
Choose between being a salesman or a soldier
Just let me look a little older, let me step a little bolder
Choose between being a butcher or a pauper
Honey, I'm taking no orders, I'm gonna be nobody's soldier
(Nobody's soldier) Mmm, being a butcher
(Nobody's soldier) or a pauper, I'm
(Nobody's soldier) I'm gonna be nobody's soldier
I don't wanna choose between being a salesman or a soldier
Just let me look a little older, let me step a little bolder
Choose between being a butcher or a pauper
Honey, I'm taking no orders, gonna be nobody's soldier

For a second there, I had a Paul Carrack flashback...

Came here to say this, but you said it better than I!
A great guy, fighting his good fight.
This is the main mix on Radio Paradise
Poppy grabby.  A nice listen.  Several of them.  But after that, it might sound same-old and it could get the psd gong by about # 16.
Elvis Costello, Pump it up, part II!!!!

This is the first song in a good minute that I've logged onto to vote for.
This track super reminds me of our favs from over a decade ago, the Seattle band Pickwick and their first EP and then full-length ("Cant Talk Medicine") ... Love the vibe on this one. And it has something to say like he so often does.
I dig it. Cool music video too.
Really thought this was the cult until I looked
I only knew him from his first album, which I really like, epecially for his voice. I am missing that timbre in this song though. Nice and poppy, but also fairly generic to me. Let's start this with "pretty good" and see if it grows on me.

And me, as well at 1:30 am.  I was going to slide into bed, and then Bill introduced "a new song from Hozier".  I guess it will be more of a bounce, now.  Thanks, Bill!
