When I jumped off I had a bucket full of thoughts
When I first jumped off I held that bucket in my hand
Ideas that would take me all around the world
I stood and watched the smoke behind the mountain curl
It took me a long time to get back on the train

Now I'm gone and I'll never look back again
I'm gone and I'll never look back at all
You know I'll never look back again
I turn my face into the howling wind
It took me a long time to get back on the train

See my face in the town that's flashing by
See me standing in the station in the rain
See me running there beside the car
I left it all behind me and I've traveled far
It took me a long time to get back on the train

I listen to a lot of music and I am always searching for new sounds.  I am open to and love many styles but I can say unequivocally Phish is, my opinion, the best.  You cannot just casually stroll into it however - thus you hear much negativity.   They can regularly sell out stadiums with a dedicated crowd like no other currently active band.  They did a 13 night run at Madison Square Garden and did not repeat one song the entire 13 nights, who else has done that?

Sorry, still not a fan. And I listen to everything. I mean I will listen to it on RP and won't hit SKIP like I do on other artists that are way over played. But it is not my station, so I am ok with it.....

The Baker's Dozen!!!
Thanks for sharing!

When I jumped off I had a bucket full of Farts

I had to stop and wonder when I put my playlist on.  We be dancing....
Great album, but they are the best live.
Enjoy
This has the rhythm of the wheels on the rails in spades! 👏

More Phish!
all work has stopped for the duration...
Appropos, in Zurich in the rain, and about off to ride on some rails....

They struck me as Grateful Dead wanna-be's, which of course also explained the Dead Head look/flare of the crowds on the train.  I'm a big GD fan but, Phish, not so much.

Fairly or not, that was my take on Phish as well. I went to one of their concerts and wasn't thrilled. The music never seemed to get up to speed. It was fairly mellow and free-flowing but not really exciting. Phish was a bar band in ski country for a long time, right? Musically, I think that should have been the best place for their level of ability.

But this is a pretty good song.
{#Dancingbanana_2}{#Bananajam}More PHISH!!{#Dancingbanana_2}{#Bananajam}
Yawn.... so many better songs from these guys. This one always felt like an inside joke no one else gets....

They have some pretty awesome live albums, itching to be added to the RP playlist...

This has been one of my favorite Phish songs since it came out.  I love the lyrics — about losing your train of thought.  It's a little bit hit-or-miss but they can occasionally do some magical things with this song when they play it live.

I don't know the name for it, but I've always liked this style of drum beat (zydeco?).  I always called it the "chugga-chugga" beat, because it sounds like a train, and well look what song Phish decided to put those lyrics into :)

Where are these guys / gals from - Zydeco feel!  C'mon back, google shy!

Same here.

Excellent Phish tune.  Great album.

Absolutely.  And yet, my answer is "A Picture of Nectar".
More Phish could fit into the PR mix very well.
Trying very hard not to bounce up & down in my chair to this one, makes me chair dance!
There are two types of people in the world, those who hear Phish and have no interest in seeing them live, and those who hear Phish and think tickets are already difficult enough to get.

Everybody in my church loves this song...

This song is still soooo good for the ears...  love it...

I really like Phish —- I saw several live shows in the early '90s, and they were outstanding —- but this song sucks, no way around it.  The stuff on Picture of Nectar give a good portrait of the band in what I consider their prime.
This is a fun song to listen to live in concert.
Seen these folks a few times...not the best song to represent their sound.
Nothing like a little black top boogie to get your toe tappin', or romeotuma's hotel room dancin'...
This band is just so unbelievably blah! Instant mute every time they come on.

Not my style but boy does it sing my life....took me a long time to get back on the train......
Wow, first I've heard this in the line up...it's apparently been in rotaion awhile...great album, better songs to pick however. Always down w/ some Phish.
Let me start out by saying I truely love Phish....It's nice to hear them on here, but theres so many better tunes that could be played.....definitly live tracks are where it's at though.....

Then you really don't know them at all. Their studio stuff is interesting at times, but its not what they are about. Farmhouse is a great album, musically amazing. Live, they kick serious butt.

Shoot! I'm a liberal, enjoy the occasional spliffolino, can relate to good art and like country music. Well, good country music that is. Phish on the other hand, is very... inoffensive, and as such pretty boring. I guess the inoffensive part appeals to many republicans, all the time they fight "offensive" cultural expressions.
Bought this album last week. this is my favourite tune from it.

Yeah Phish... Thank you RP, It's been a while! I just saw Trey and Mike do this song accousticly at the Hammerstien Ball room in NYC...SICK!

i tried getting a couple of tracks from Nectar and Lawnboy added, but had no luck there, either. this newer stuff is ok, but nothing to write home about, imho. they haven't had a really exciting studio release since Nectar. it's all just toned down, simple (no, not in a good way), doesn't really sound like Phish much at all to me, really. i miss the crazy arrangements, and amazing instrumentation, and just general tripped-out songwriting of the first three albums. but that's just my take on it.

Happy to hear Phish, but not a very amazing song. It's got a nice shuffling beat, and I really like Trey's guitar tone during the solo, but it's just not indicative of what Phish can really do.
How completely strange.....I just began writting a paper on the Kennedy Assination about thirty seconds before this song started..... Great Song.....

Amen! Such ideology has more often succeeded in barrier building and worse....ah, but I kick away the soapbox. Phish is always good for innovative jams no matter what your persuasion.

It does have a Dead feel, but the vocals can't be mistaken for Jerry or Bobby or even Phil for that matter.
I adore this song! It just makes me want to get up and dance, or at least bob my head like a chicken.
Super Dooper little tune!
I thought this was the Dead too.. Not a great compliment, but a groovy little song for a summer day - like today!

Now, now - there's no need to pick on Republicans just because they're musically challenged. Why, some of my best friends are Republicans, and I'm able to overlook their many handicaps. In fact, if I wasn't around to read the newspaper to them, I don't know what they'd do.
