I've now heard four versions of this and this is by far the weakest.

For my money, Dave Alvin's is the best.

Good cover of a GREAT song.

Mystified by the low rating.  Meticulous guitar and voice.  But more, the song just has heart, that je ne sais quoi.

Yup, I liked it at first, but the guys voice, more specifically the emotion in his voice, just doesn't seem to fit the song at all.

He sounds far too nice (for lack of a better term) to be singing this. Kind of like a business professor talkin' crap at a biker bar.

I like Lowery's scruffy voice best of them all.

Musically, this is a great album.  It's hard to get over this guys vocals though.

This sounds like what would happen if James Taylor and Rascal Flatts had a child.  A mildly retarded child.  This is the 3rd song I have heard off of this album and I hope it is the last.

Didn't realize this was a Greatful Dead cover... all this time I thought it was a Lowery tune. Seems so obvious in hindsight (hindsound?).

Better than the TN Jed cover he did.  Nice.
