You know what would be fun? I bet you could jump out and run along side the train and shit.

Only until you ran out of alongside, which happened occasionally.

I did think at one point that a particularly unusual and picturesque form of suicide would be to leap from the little train as it swung round one of those corners with the huge drops. And they went down a loooong way.

But that would put a downer on a lot of happy holidaymakers' excursion.

Good news for all the lammergeiers we saw, though.

I'd call it an isoclinal synform.  It's a beauty!  We were once slated (no pun) to go to Spain and Pyrenees were on the schedule.  Didn't make it.  Still want to go.

We're on holiday in the Pyrenees, the French side seems to be one big tectonic crumple zone. Sprogs and crappy weather have conspired to keep us away from the lumpy bits for a few days, hence our excursion over to Spain today - the sun came out within a couple of hundred of metres of crossing the border at the Col de Portalet this morning. But looking good for tomorrow.

Lots of geology/geography going on here of course. We're near Pau, and - be still my beating heart - the family we swapped with are vignerons in Jurançon. Hic.
