There was a time that I thought allergies were largely psychosomatic.  Boy was I dumb.

Hubby's had bad allergies since he was very small and missed a ton of school, even with regular allergy shots.  I have a ton of empathy now.

If it gets really bad for me, so bad I feel sick and the antihistamines just ain't cutting' it anymore, I go to the doc-in-the-box and get a shot of hydrocortisone. I don't think allergies are amenable to generalizations. People who've never been affected, sometimes develop debilitating seasonal allergies. If it's a matter of acclimation, it is a NEGATIVE effect.

A key to curing hay-fever allergies is acclimation. Treating the symptoms with drugs disrupts the bodies ability to reprogram the immune system. If you can survive a season or two without antihistamines (and other medicines that suppress the immune system) the body reprograms itself away from hypersensitivity. A spoonful of honey and cinnamon, now and then, can ease symptoms without taking away the immune system's ability to right itself.

I never had a problem with allergies until recently, of course it could just be my overall decrepitude.

Allergies are really nailing me this season. Usually Claratin D helps somewhat but this year its not helping even a little bit. I'm clearing my throat constantly and have nody aches 24/7. So much fun...

My husband has bad allergies.  So, I never get to open the window in the bedroom because he thinks the pollen from outside will make him have an attack (which very well may be true... he has occasional awful allergy attacks even though he takes Claritin every day.)  

So, I'm doing laundry... does this also mean I shouldn't hang the sheets out on the line, 'cause they'll just get all polleny?

I'm thinking the bathroom mold was it. After washing the curtain, bathmat(which I hate and only have in there for my dad) and scrubbing the walls 3 times yesterday and aiming a fan in there, today was the first day in months I haven't had a sinus drainage issue in the morning that is too gross to describe in detail.
