Way back during the election season of 2008, I remember being taken to task by BHD over my use of the argument that anyone who supports Obama must be ______ or ______ .   She spoke directly and publicly to me about how such blanket statements were both wrong and offensive.  I took it to heart and realized that it is indeed wrong and offensive to go down that kind of road and ever since then have avoided (as much as possible) deliberately using all inclusive statements that would suggest that anyone who _____ must be _____ .   IIRC, I thanked her for bringing it to my attention and proceeded since to try and modify my arguments to dealing with a subject as much as possible sticking to the subject or public figure and avoiding including their supporters in broad brushed descriptions of the subject at hand.  When speaking in terms of D's or R's, the subject was regarding the party leadership and not in terms of the rank and file (aka you and me).

Here we are 8 years later and there are constant and plenty of unbridled statements about anyone who supports Trump is _____ and _____ and worse.  Fine be that way.  I'm sure that it makes you (who ever the shoe fits) feel better.  But it will not get any one who is being attacked to try and see things your way.  But if you are going down that road, I bet you really don't care about that anyway.  

So have fun.  Just remember that in doing it this way you are attacking people personally and in very offensive ways.  I have tremendously thick skin.  But I can only speak for myself about how thick my hide is.  I am speaking more for those who might take personal offense than myself.  In expressing these thoughts this way, you are building walls and burning bridges between yourself and them.  Someday you might need 'them'.  Or maybe you won't.  But to dismiss someone based upon one aspect of their whole is pretty remarkable.  Just don't expect their help, sympathy or empathy when you should stumble and find out that you are not invincible and self reliant as you think you are.

In another way to put it.  I know some Deadheads who voted for Trump.  Go figure.
