I thought women being tossed in the air by angry bison was a Cowboy State tradition. Like the running of the bulls in Pamplona.

"Bottoms up, Ethel!"

To our digital community, please keep your comments civil. This person DID break the rules for approaching wildlife, but they were injured and went to the hospital. One of our goals in sharing these stories is not to shame, but to show real-world examples of what can happen if rules regarding wildlife are not followed. Thanks for you help!

Update: The original outside reporting that the woman died, has been corrected.

That doesn't say it was wrong, just it's not official yet.

Apparently that was a mistake and she did survive. I'll leave it to you to decide if her survival was a mistake.

There was no video of this incident and I was disappointed.
So one less dumbazz in the world.

And I smell a lawsuit because there was no sign posted on the side of the bison warning people that death is possible.

Well, dam a few rivers, flood a few valleys and start growing rice!   Whatcha waitin' for?

Besides, using infallible logic, ..... if rice is grown in Texas, why not Wyoming?

I'm very much wondering what our recent bunch of imports (gosh, there a lot of vehicles with Texas plates around here lately) are thinking about the snow on the ground today.

Do a lot of Oklahomans live in Wyoming? Or vice versa?

Jennifer Ann Sorenson, Mayor of the Town of Evansville, faces one charge of Misuse of Office, a misdemeanor. Persons found guilty of Misuse of Office may face fines of up to $1,000.

Matt McGraw, Evansville Police Officer, faces one count of Conspiracy to Misuse Office, and two misdemeanor drug charges, alleging illegal possession of Xanax and hydrocodone.

...

Agents with the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation said that they began looking into Sorenson and McGraw after a former spouse of Sorenson reported that they suspected McGraw to be using stimulant drugs, saying that McGraw would stay awake for days at a time. The reporting party said that they had found codeine in a safe at a residence that they were moving out of, and where McGraw and Sorensen were reportedly moving in.

1. Just how small is this town?

2. If McGraw was using all those opiods, WTF was he taking to stay awake for days at a time?

3. Are we sure all this isn't from an episode of "The Dukes of Hazzard"?

Yeah the Xanax + Hydrocodone ≠ sleeplessness. I wondered the same thing.

Evansville is 2500 and abuts the larger town of Casper. Of course the biggest towns in the state aren't a blip on most states' radar. As mayor, she makes 1000/month, about the same as our mayor (about 3x more people). He's pretty good at keeping his hours down to a dull roar but it still doesn't amount to minimum wage.

In googling this stuff, she's had the post for 18 months. She was on the city council before that, which probably paid a per-meeting stipend of $100 or so.

What is with American towns right next to other towns? The twin-cities, the tri-cities, the quad cities...

Ok, there was quite a fuss when they merged Eaglehawk (the Borough) with Bendigo but at least a Bendigo boy probably won't get beat up for pashing an Eaglehawk girl anymore.

I'm guessing that towns settled around rivers or the meeting of rivers due to commerce and transportation. Sometimes they merged into one, sometimes they didn't. I don't know what's going on with the area around Iowa and Illinois. Perhaps you could ask Fred Garvin, male prostitute (servicing the entire quad-city area!):

Proclivities changed his avatar to Fred recently,  which brought this skit back to mind. It's a classic—one of Dan Ackroyd's best skits along with Bass-o-matic (a Halloween variation here) and Consumer Probe investigating the child toy "Bag O' Glass"  .

Honestly, I lived on the East Coast much of my life, so the Fred Garvin skit holds most of what I know about the quad-city area. A great place to buy men's trusses, I hear.
