it's about someone being NICE to you, and sharing their good mood, spirit, or whatever they believe. it's not an asumption or an aggressive thing, or at all asking someone they are greeting to change/conform their ways/beliefs...it's a frickin greeting meant in good cheer, is all!! total strangers may say it to you on the street. how the F are they going to know your beliefs? it's just about being NICE and sharing a seasonal, positive, joyous greeting. it's not about religion, in most cases.
i mean...whatever. i am so over this. people choose to get upset about the most ridiculous things, in my opinion.

I actually don't wish people Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah unless I know them well enough to know what holiday they celebrate. If I want to wish a greeting to someone I don't know at this time of year, I will tell them to enjoy the season or have a wonderful New Year. I don't assume that someone celebrates one holiday or another. It's a personal matter for people, and I like to leave it that way.

You like splitting hairs don't you. The fact is you wished people a Happy Hanukkah and then bitch about people wishing you a Merry Christmas. You are again caught in your continued hypocrisy. You have no idea how ridiculous you are do you?

Yes, that clears up the contradiction. Oh, look, non celebrators are in there, gathering and sharing good will! Wonders ever unceasing...

This is the problem with religion, it creates exclusiveness.

We live in a diverse place, lots of cultures mingling. We each bring something from our own traditions, and our culture is richer for it. If you insist on dealing with that culture on only your own terms—and being offended by all the others—you will miss out on that experience. The space you get to wish people a happy Hanukkah comes from letting them wish you a merry Christmas. Namaste. So not true, but whatever.
