Yes, I will criticize. As I did Mr. Bush, Mr. Clinton, Mr. Bush before, Mr. Reagan, Mr. Carter...and those before. Yes, I will. I refuse to see this administration with blinders. I have not afforded any other administration, Congress, Party, invidual, a free pass when they did something that warrants comment and criticisms when appropriate. Especially if it involves The People.
When you have to throw something together... As in TARP, the stimulus, and now, a massive overhaul of our health care system with the Government, from which it is ridiculous to expect perfection (or competence, efficiency, predictions...), offering proposals no one can truly follow. If the past serves as a guide to the future, expect any bill of the sort resting in The House and under initial review by The Senate, to morph beyond its original scope and intent and to explode a new hole in a bleeding-to-death spending spiral.
Ok, we must believe VP Biden only because he said it was, for the most part, done correctly. And how does that excuse what should be a Congressional Investigation into the creation of new Congressional Districts, some of which are listed as having jobs saved/created? You don't make that degree of error without a purpose. This has the distinct stench of typical Chicago-style politics. You know, where the dead arise on Election Day to vote blue.

I don't see anything that makes this guy a Communist. His worst sin was signing on to a document that raises the far fetched suspicion that the US government looked the other way as 9/11 happened. Obama has retained the Secretary of Defense from the Bush administration. He has reappointed Ben Bernanke, a Republican, to the chairmanship of the Federal Reserve. My God, that must make Obama a closet...Republican!!!

I understand DOD was running war games that day, but damn, our fighters have a range of about 1500 miles an hour.
I agree completely that it's not too much to ask why this happened. Along with a lot of other hard questions about the whole disaster.
But, turf wars, personal rivalries, arrogance, butthole obstinacy, self-delusion, bad organization, and good old incompetence - you know, the usual - should be thoroughly considered before entertaining the concept of malicious conspiratorial motives.

And...? The rest of the story? Plenty of people have moved to the center, or even the right, after their student activist days. David Horowitz is one of the more famous examples.
What's the guy now? Looks like he embraces eco-capitalism.

The Bay Area's Van Jones — the Special Advisor for Green Jobs at the White House Council on Environmental Quality — just finished apologizing for calling Republicans "a-holes" when he got something else to start explaining: How his signature got on a 2004 petition asking for an immediate "inquiry into evidence that suggests high-level government officials may have deliberately allowed the September 11th attacks to occur." Van said he didn't carefully review the petition before signing it "certainly does not reflect my views now or ever."
Bad sign: When asked if Jones still enjoys the confidence of the President Friday, White House flak Robert Gibbs said "he continues to work in this administration."
