Yes I saw it in person. It is very quiet. It cools at least as well as any other fan of similar size. All the moving parts (unless you count chasis oscillation and tilt) are inside.
The increased cost will hurt them with this as the difference in the way the air feels (compared to a standard fan) is minimal. The sell will come mainly from the massive improvements in safety and cleaning and, of course, the Hip factor.
