Yes I saw it in person. It is very quiet. It cools at least as well as any other fan of similar size. All the moving parts (unless you count chasis oscillation and tilt) are inside.
The increased cost will hurt them with this as the difference in the way the air feels (compared to a standard fan) is minimal. The sell will come mainly from the massive improvements in safety and cleaning and, of course, the Hip factor.

it doesn't sound cooling, or that it makes much of a sound.

yeah, sorry.. "to like" I am in town, sort of. There's a little open space nearby - the old rural graveyard. They come over here to eat the flowers.

Antigone wrote:Oh! Isn't he a handsome fellow? He was probably just telling your mom's cat to leave the mice to him! And great pix ... were you screaming like a girl the whole time you took them? Ha! After the shock wore off of almost stepping on this guy's "wife" who was hanging out at the foot of the stairs watching the cat play... I only screamed a little here and there in between shots. Good thing I have decent zoom on my camera. You could see the snake won the mouse war earlier in the day by the big bulge in his bellay. ugh.
