fishy, i completely understand where you're coming from and will be fine with whatever is decided.
i think it is important to come up with NEW mixes - not just rehashing something you've had or made for someone else, in keeping with the whole concept of mix tapes, but that's just me. plus, how would anyone know? LOL anyway, i have already thought of at least 10 possible themes. Absolutely. I have other mixed CDs that I've made before, but I think part of the fun in all of this is coming up with something new—and something that is specifically meant for the rather eclectic group that will surely be a part of this.

Wake up, Nerds! The Iceman Cometh!* *I want this on a shirt. CLUB MEMBERS: I'm going to go ahead and mail out the CDs for now. Can't help it, I'm a touchy-feely person. If you haven't already sent me your address and you would like my mixtape, please message me.

I'm piloting this month...going to be mindful of how long it takes me and how much it costs. As long as the mail-out stays at twenty or below, I'm game to do it alone. If the club gets larger, I'll ask someone to help me with the load and co-host. The whole point is to stay true to the mixtape.

It's my preference too, but I can see how mailing out 50 CDs to people can be a bummer. I'm thinking of maybe taking on co-hosts (to split the mailings 2 or more ways) if the group gets huge, but right now it's under 10 members.

Yeah. But really I get a disc and stick it in the machine immediately anyway to rip it.

If you're on a mac you can share the file directly from your mac (as long as you're online), and you can upload to mac.com and I'm sure a lot of similar services exist for the PCs. If push comes to shove I could host it. Of course you don't want to have it be "MyFavoriteMusicMix.zip" or linked to from a hundred different websites, so keep that in mind. Mac.com (me.com now ) files that are shared can have an expiration date assigned so that would keep a file from being searchable next year... I like this idea better than mailing out physical discs.
