Yea, he had some pretty good songs, but that video
destroyed any credibility that he had in the music industry forever and ever! Simply unforgivable!!
OK. Finally watched the video. If the director of that had told me to act/move like that, I would have kicked him/her in the crotch. It didn't match the image that had been marketed prior to that, so it made absolutely no sense to embrace it.

He is actually one of the most sampled artists in Hip-Hop; go figure!

I don't think he qualifies as "killing (his) own career" as much as just his fame running out. He was sort of a parody of himself after a while.
