They would have had to cut 98% of the show because it did keep dismissing religion throughout. But that was pretty subtle most of the time so maybe they didn't catch on...
I'm sure the show really chaps some fundamentalist asses around here.

Bask in your good fortune. (jeez louise....OK???). It is smth in the water all right. Make sure your water source is an artesian spring or similar. Can't be too careful
Yeah, the tribes were chased off (read: forcibly relocated from ethnically cleansed) the prime real estate in the East and South, and given instead the lovely environs of the Sooner state. Quite a trade.
I believe it got that name back when it was supposed to be the FINAL home of many of the remaining Indigenous Peoples. The irony is that America once again broke its word and now the place is filled with Republicans.

Does Oklahoma mean "Red People" in Choctaw? . There was a story in the Washington Post today about an Oklahoma representative calling for the NFL to take an official position demanding that the Washington Redskins change the team name. The story included the following response from a spokesperson for the team:
Redskins spokesman Tony Wyllie said in a statement, "With all the important issues Congress has to deal with such as a war in Afghanistan to deficits to health care, don't they have more important issues to worry about than a football team's name? And given the fact that the name of Oklahoma means 'Red People' in Choctaw, this request is a little ironic."
