Dave is right, if you have a lot of spiders, then you already have a bug problem.spiders just follow the food.

yea, I get bit all the time. You just have to be careful for the poisonous ones which are usually too small to be spotted anyway. 9 times out of 10, if it is a big spider, it is harmless to humans anyway. I make it a point only to kill things that might be dangerous, like I will kill scorpions, poisonous snakes and so forth.

 The usual poisons work on them the same as others, just slower. Try to be patient. If she's an arachnophobe, a broom may make her want to move out or hit you with it. BDH and I use Ortho Home Defense Max at our place and never, ever see bugs or spiders.... and we live in the land of 80 foot roaches. Okay, maybe not quite 80 foot, but they are freaking huge, evil bastids. Who fly.
