Heard a song on Wyoming Public Radio by Conor Oberst. Hundreds of WaysPretty good stuff, Bill should add it.
And speaking of difficult-to-love voices, Okkervil River put out an album last year that sounds a lot more promising than that one a few years ago that was such a ghastly downer that no one dared listen more than once.

There is a new band in town! They are called Temples and were formed in my home town of Kettering in England in 2012 and they are already on a World tour.
Cited by both Johnny Marr and Noel Gallagher as the best new band in Britain!
This Summer they are appearing at these festivals: Glastonbury Reading Leeds Bestival Festival No.6
which are THE festivals in the UK!
I have no vested interest but they remind me of the music I was listening to 40 years ago, with a modern twist. Watch them on YouTube: http://youtu.be/tUGEnXz4EG8 they would be a great addition to the RP playlist.
I just gave it a spin - she's turned out to be one of those genre-defying Artists with the capital A, and a fantastic lyricist. Really good (and sometimes bizarre) stuff.
Edit: Whoops, didn't see Lazy's post from earlier. My apologies for the redundancy. Ahh, well...I'm leaving this here.

I recently discovered this band Alabama Shakes. I'm incredibly mesmerized by the lead singer, Brittany Howard. She has so much talent and soul; she's like a new version of Joplin and Hendrix combined.

I shall have to listen closely to some of their stuff. What I've heard on RP is moderately interesting. Right now, I'm digging all the stuff from my brother-in-law's "off-site backup" hard drive that we are in possession of. He has an epic fuck ton of music, he does.
I liked them better when I thought they were English.
Some of the National's stuff is pretty ho hum and some of it thrills me. It's worth spending some time with.
