I don't know if this has been posted before,but this freeware program makes Windows 10 a little less awful to deal with.It makes the GUI similar to Windows 7,which ain't great,but it's better.There are no Windows 7 drivers for my new laptop(that I can find anyway) so I can't downgrade it. http://www.classicshell.net/

I upgraded my laptop a few months ago and did the main PC the other week. It's a good OS, no regrets.

It slithered in on the coattails of a new laptop that doesn't have Windows 7 drivers on Acer's website(or anywhere).I'm not ready to make the jump to mostly Linux until next year.

There is a program called Classic Shell that makes it(and Windows 8) usable enough to keep you from committing seppuku.The first 24 hours I had the suicide hotline on speeddial. {#Lol}

Roku doesn't tie you to the evil Amazon ecosystem but Fire can run Kodi,not that much of a deal if you can stream media from a laptop.I've got a new Acer that has Windows 10 and I'm just going to use it to get around the baseball blackouts.Windows 10 starts out as a nightmare,you can't set up the start menu the way you want and to do anything you have to find the right "app".It kind of remembers what you like and changes things just enough to tease you.I was tempted to put a new copy of Windows 7 on it,but since it's just for 1 purpose I skipped the hassle.If I were you and in a position to learn a new OS I'd go with Linux Mint.Really intuitive for Windows refugees and almost no pseudo-Unix command line stuff to deal with.

I was leaning towards Fire because it is more versatile. Now I come to learn Roku is TWC friendly and since they are my new dealer, I guess that's it for now.

Linux, maybe someday ...

That sucks.Google is right there with Amazon on my avoid list.
