the idea of (eventually) using one OS across the desktop, laptop, tablet and phone is appealing

just makes sense

there's no doubt that 8 has lots of 7 dna

and it is notably/noticeably faster (less bloat)

it would seem that MS is also taking a page from Apple in that the Surface (if i understand this correctly) has software written to specific targeted hardware

i like where the industry is going with this stuff (speech/voice & touch driven software design, seems more intuitive)

The Metro UI is the bomb for touch screens but is painfully awkward for the mouse and/or trackpad.  Hence & Behold...the dual UI for the eminent transition.  {#Angel}

It's indeed peppy and just as forgiving as Win 7 for "aged" systems.  Hmmmm...it is Win 7 under the hood—-just with some modernized fender flares. ;)

seems a lot faster and RP works well with it

the tile(s) interface is simple and intuitive

if that's not your cup of tea, just go straight away to the traditional desktop
